:(
I have down loaded the patch, and I have tried to install it and I cannot, I know that you must double-click on it and I have tried this numerous times, without success.
I even went to far as to use WinAce to seperate, sort, and add files from the patch manually into coinciding exsisting files in the game witch I thought worked, but didnt.

So how do install the patch.......PLEASE .

Also, I have had some serious sound problems with the game, I have all of the other patches, and none have fixed it. I don't have a sound card, but my sound works on every other game I have, even with BG2 , and Diablo2 ,so, is the fix for this in patch 1.4 , I do know that their a many, many sound files in the patch, form the file swapping I did earlier, or is their some other fix??

the patch is an *.exe file. if double clicking doesnt work, i suggest you right click it and choose "Open".

as for the sound, state your sound card specifics and OS.

Patch v1.4 fixes the following things:

- Beriand failing to heal parties after returning his staff.
- A crash at the Trapfall area of the Glin Gardens.
- Chests in Dwaven Dungeons opening and missing items.
- Ancient Iron Key missing.
- A few crashes in the Elven Catacombs.

Lyte: I Know that it is an *.exe file and I tried double clicking
and left click and open, and other things as stated above.

As far as sound card stuff, I don't have a sound card, I
run a Hewlitt Packard and everything is onboard
Really hate that part but that is probably the problem.
I run Win 98' OS, 566 celeron processor, 256mb ram,
and a 10 1/2 gig hd. if any of that helps. If you know
where I can get an updated driver for Crystal Audio, that
would be greatly appreciated, if not, Thanks for the time
and I appreciate the offer of help.

Demis: Well, thank you for your input, I appreciate the info so
now I know that I am never gonna have descent sound
till I get a new system.. LoL . :D

BTW: Thanks for answering every one of my post's
You are a great Moderator...

Maybe you would like to check this out. If the HP model is not the same as yours you can browse the site and i'm sure you will find out an update for your audio card. :)

Still having Problems :(

Thanks for the link Demis, still trying to dl it, everytime I get started the darn phone starts ringing off the hook, (irritation
begins to overwhelm), but persistance will prevail, and I shall
thwart the efforts of evil and accomplish my goal...
(grins and snickers)

Now to the main topic of this post:

I redownloaded the patch and tried again, now I am getting this
error stating that it is not a Win32 application, and it will not complete it.

The mythical powers of evil are once again trying
to gain the advantage in the struggle between man
and technology..... :p

Sorry about all the drama but it is a simple form af relief..

any suggestions.

any suggestions.
This is what i would do, Try to find some updated drivers for the sound card then unistall the game and reinstall it. Apply patch v1.3 and start playing hoping not to encounter some major bugs.
FYI, i played and finished the game before even patch v1.4 got released. Good luck :)
