Breach/pierce magic/(maybe spell immunity) are buggy

Been messing around testing spell protections and anti-protections with imoen and my pc make sure it all works like I thought since I tend not watch the messages too closely as they fly by in fights. Some spells don't seem to interact as described.
Breach or Pierce magic vs Spell shield: Breach and pierce magic both just ignore spell shield when I test it with spell immunity, stoneskin, spell shield all up together. Breach takes down stoneskin and leaves spell shield alone. Pierce magic takes down spell immunity and drops my magic resistance and also leaves spell shield standing. The description of spell shield is pretty clear that it should be activating, stopping those spells, and getting used up.
Pierce magic vs Spell turning or spell deflection: Spell turning/deflection actually turn/deflect pierce magic even though pierce magic's description claims it works against them.
Spell Immunity: Abjuration: This makes you immune to dispel, but not to any of the other spell killers (breach, pierce magic, etc) even though those are abjuration. pierce takes SI:A down, breach leaves it up (as expected) but also totally ignores it and strips other protections like stoneskin despite SI:A being there. Also, I can still cast abjuration spells on myself freely with SI:A up, and dispel effects on a weapon that strikes me do cause dispel effects (though spell immunity itself appears to be impervious to dispel).
All the other spell attack/defense stuff I tested worked as I expected. Secret word, RRoR, pierce shield, spellstrike all got intercepted by spell shield and none got reflected by spell turning.
The spell immunity stuff could be just an undocumented feature limiting the usefulness of the otherwise cheestastic SI:A, but the things with breach/pierce magic seem to be pretty clear bugs.
For the record I have ToB with most recent patch and the baldurdash bhallpowers/hard bosses/concurrent romance stuff installed (and no other mods have ever been on this install of the game).
