First of all: Welcome to the board.

Could you please elaborate a little ? Your statement is neither a question nor something to discuss. So what's the meaning of your post ?

No worries,

Go optimus!

It's was a cool catoon. Optimus prime rules!
To bad he "died" or something, can't really remember. But the next generation transformers found him in space in his tomb. When they woke him up he went beserk.

Does anybody know what happend to him? (what killed him)

@Grimlock

It's never too early to spam and your first post at that!

To be on the cautious side, methinks it's also never too early to take a look at the FAQ to have a safe and sound time here. :)

Congratulations and welome to the GameBanshee Club!

I was a Transformers buff as a kid, so I know about this.

Rodimus Prime was better than Optimus Prime. The Decepticons were way cooler than the Autobots, especially under Galvatron (cause Megatron was a fruitcake), except that Metroplex was by far the coolest character of all. Unicron was just plain awesome, though.

I can't believe I remember all this. @Beldin-Spam away my friend. :D

Nothing beats the original!
But who are Metroplex and Unicron? (I know Galvatron.)

Ps. wasn't unicron the one who talked really fast?

I remember Cup, he was cool, what was the name of the character that had tapes that transformed to animals?

Unicron was the giant planet-sized Transformer who devoured other planets to power itself. It was only in the movie. Metroplex was the Autobot city.

The one with the tapes was Soundwave. IIRC Blurr was the fast-talking one.

LOL!

How on earth do you know all these things!? I never saw the move though.

Did anyone see what they did to the transformers in that computeranimated series "Beastwars"? Man, computer animation is cool, don't get me wrong, but they shouldn't mess with classics: the old Transformer series rules!

i'm a bit of a transformers nut, so any questi0ons anyoen might have just ask away.

in transformers the movie, megatron hijacks an autobot shuttle and kills a whole bunch of them like iron hide, braun, and several others. as the shuttle is landing they see that it is actually decepticons and a big fight ensues.
optimus prime sis beating the crap out of everybody, especially megatron, when stupid hot rod (later rodimus prime) interfered and megatron was able to get his cannon back and deliver a fatal blow to optimus, but not before he hands off the autobot matrix of leadership. which when handing off, accidentally dropsd and hot rod touchs. his last words were, "till all are one"

but megatron and some of the others were just intoo bad of shape, and so when astrotrain had to lighten the load they dumped them into space. that is when unicron finds them and enslaves them in turn for new life. unicron fel the power of the matrix when it changed hands and that is the only thing that can destroy him so he needed megatron, now galvatron, to retrieve it.
unicron was the voice of orson wells, and it was the last movie he ever did.

later, in the cartoon, they did recover optimus prime's body and tried to restlore him, but he went berserk for whatever reason. they tried again a little later and was successfuly but there was this red bacteria that infected everyone and turned them extremely violent against everyone else. with the help of the quinticons, and rodimus prime going inside the autobot matrix, he found how to use the matrix to cure everybody, including optimus prime.

optimus prime was the greatest leader portrayed in modern mass media. none of this wussy team, everyone is important politically correct B.S. optimus was a leader through and through, he was charismatic, responsible, intelligent, and powerful. unlike the cartoons that followed it, it showed that people truly are not equals, soem people are just better than others at certain things, if not all things, but should still be respected as a humans.

goodbye optimus

so, anyone have any questions, i'll try my best to answer them

I can remember all this because I was a Transformers obsessive throughout all my childhood. I even missed the Ninja Turtles phenomenon because of it.

Optimus Prime was not the greatest leader portrayed in the modern mass media. He was by far too gentle to be have any kind of credibility as a war leader. I do agree with the PC correct team bit though. BTW, wasn't that red bacteria epsiode when Bumblebee got changed into Goldbug?

I think the Predacons (classic predacons, not this "Beast Wars B.S.) were the best, especially when they formed Predaking.

yes, that is when bumblebee became goldbug.
i still believe optimus prime wa sthe best, especially when taken in context with the movie where he destroys everyone. but i understand what you are sayign about being too soft. but i can see why the media wouldn't want a violent "good guy", which is why optimus was such a good leader. even being confined to a limited amount of aggression he always maintained power and control.
media today, only criminalizes leadeship, only the "bad guys" ever have a true leader, the good guys a la power rangers is just everyonoe is happy and equal crap.

i really liked the predacons as well considering they were invincible when they were transformed into predaking, but the dinobots will always be my favorite.
omega supreme was kick A$$ as well. did you see the cartoon where they found this pool of gold liquid that made them invincible for a short time? at first only the decepticons had it, but then the autobots found it and in the middle of the battle, omega supreme rises otu of the pool and just obliterates everyone...good stuff.
ok, gotta go to work now...runnign late just to answer transformers questions i dont think is acceptable behavior...oh well.
as beldin would say, "no worries"

@grasshopper - so, who do you think is the best leader portrayed in media?

Hands down, the best Transformer was Jetfire, the rip-off of a Macross/Robotech Super Veritech. He was an Autobot who could fly, had three different modes (battloid, guardian, jet) and had that cool bolt-on armour. Metroplex and Ultra Magnus were cool, too, but my second favourite was Jazz because he had that big-ass shoulder cannon.

::bows to the vast bastion of Transformers knowledge that is nael::
You've got the touch! You've got the power!
::continues to bow humbly::

Aah, Soundwave the coolest of the Transformers.

@ Ode, Have you seen the new versions of Transformers on Saturday mornings. I got up early one morning just to watch it. Absolutly disgusted by what I saw. Autobots against Predacons.
Optimus going into "Battle-mode" and the worst...

The autobots could fly, their one weakness was gone :(

@ Grimlock: i see you have finally started to corrupt the board, then

Flying autobots?! that's just cheap and evil and nasty and poor! whoever is responsible for that should be left to die in a gibbet.

what are the predacons like, though, cos i've only seen the old skool transformers stuff?

As aways, my favorites were the bad guys. Starscream and LaserBeak, for instance.
And I had a warm spot for the Devastator.
