hey people, i'm needing some help desigm=ning a warband for inquisitor (a wargame thingy with larger models and more detailed rules set in the warhammer 40,000 universe - gothic sci-fi) and i need suggestions for about 4 different characters which are interesting and imaginative. preferably ones that compliment each other as well, but hey...
so, any ideas for outlandish, cool, blatantly surreal or egotistical characters?

A little more info plz, do you just need interesting characters, or are there specific skills and classes they must be/possess?
It sounds interesting, but clear things up a bit if you could

Inquistitor is a massive game, and the character developmet is hard to explain. I'll try to in later posts, or provide a link.
Anyway, why use a warband of 4? Do what I do. I got one bad ass Inquister (Inquistor Merik, of Septus IV) He's a Psyker, with awesome aim and a demon sword. Though, his down side is that he doesn't have a high toughness.

But he has taken on two warbands at one time, and came out on top due to some interesting DMing. (I jerry rigged a derelict vehicle into a massive naplam bomb, and sent it driving into a warband, eliminating two of them (to my surprise). The others I toyed with. I picked them up with my mind, and flung them around the buildings.

personally i will be using a party of four because there is no way on earth that i can afford many more
however @Obsidian, there are such a variety of special skills and different models, combined with the fact that you can make up your own if you want, that all you need is a good idea for a character, then fit the rules to them.
i'm lloking for links too, but it's hard to find one that explains any details of the game, dagnabbit.
EDIT:aha! try the official website
here. it's not great, but it should give a general idea of the game

What kind of a warband are you putting together? Imperial human-only, or aliens? A friend of mine did an Ogryn out of a WHFB O&G Giant and a Squat out of Ghazkhull Thraka if you want any weird ideas.

i'm going for an imperial mechanical/military feel preferably, but anyone with a good idea is welcome in these parts.

interesting article sleepy, but it makes you wonder that the developers made an game scenario that is effectively original, yet in the entirely generic setting - mordheim would make a good game like that (as would necromunda, and especially inquisitor).

Actually, you can only have four max in a warband. I was suggesting go solo for it.

fair point

, but i'd rather have a mini-mob of rock'ard nutters to annihilate all who come before me in a hail of bullets, plasma and ichor, as well as have a damn fine looking group of units. anyway, i'll try it solo while saving for the 2nd, and if i like it, then i'll keep solo.

Aegis, you're not on the GW web forums are you? There is an Aegis there.
There's also a Gruntboy.

Dont you just love it when moderators stray completely off topic?
As for a character..
Griffen Darnel
Average in stature, though athletic, Griffen was a Lt in the armed forces, though recently has left over undisclosed reasons. Charismatic and rash, Darnell is a dynamic leader, with the ability to get himself into and out of crazy situations. An expert in small unit tactics, he is well versed in small arms and command and control techniques.

That cahracter ins't feasible, if he's human. The Imperial Gaurd doesn't disband, or allow troops to retire without good cause. Basically, the only way your guy could've gotten out of the IG is too have been dishonourly/honourly discharged, or he's gone AWOL, and thus would have half the Imperium on his ass.

hmmm... fair enough points Aegis, but i'a interested in the imperial guardsman model, as i've seen it with a load of the extra kit sprue thingies on, and it looks damn fine. However, a guardsman could possibly be requisitioned as an escort by an inquisitor, possibly as an alternative to merging with another squad after his unit dies? it would make for a very stoic, reliable fighter to have in a warband.

So a veteran Sergeant eh. Yep, that would work. To make it really interesting, you should make him from a Death Corps army. They're fearless.

Well, the way I had invisioned it, is he's dependable, but rash. highly experienced, hes not that great a warrior, but a veteran leader.
