Multiplayer ToB isn't working!

Help, my friends and I have played SoA since the beginning with some custom characters, and we just defeated Irenicus last night. There are three of us. After meeting with Ellesime[sp], one friend's computer screen went black [like mine], and another's crashed. Then it went a little psycho after a few minutes and we appeared in the forest, but the host couldn't activate any of the faces in the forest. I don't mind going through killing Irenicus again [since it was so easy], however, I would prefer to just get on with the game.

I also don't think that ungrateful wench gave us the amulet of whatever. Is there any way to fix up all of this or do we have to risk another battle?

Activating the Stone Heads is crucial to moving the plot forward. Have you tried re-loading and clicking on them again?

I know, I've finished the game in SP. We've tried reloading from the autosave but that didn't work. Methinks the game is cactus, but I was hoping there'd be a way to 'activate' the stone heads using CLUA. Is it possible to set the stone heads to variable 1, and still confront Illasera or whatever her name is?

Thanks for your interest, by the way.

Has anyone else tried going from SoA to ToB completely MP?

I don't know whether something whacked has happened or what, but MP is pretty upsetting at times. Planar Prison had some problems, like not being able to leave, and getting experience each time you spoke to Raelis [if you died and needed to reload]. Another one was not being able to speak to the dwarf for Mazzy's quest.

It's frustrating to say the very least. This, however, takes the cake. I would really like to advance my characters [as do my friends] right up to the end, but if the protagonist PC can't even activate the heads dialogue in the forest, then frowns all-round :( .

I don't know if this thread is of any help.

Failing which, you can always Private Message Sojourner and Bruce for details. :)

@Mad Hatter - You need to make sure you and your friends have the same version of ToB.

I will look into it, but I assume we have since we all got the game at around the same time, and we all made sure we updated it. Also, I'm not sure how different versions will allow us all to connect to the game, but not allow the host to activate the stone heads. We also played through al of SoA with ToB installed, so it should not have been a big problem there. I might try suggesting the import of the save game, but I prefer a continuation of the game as it stands.

Did any of you recently download any third-party mods? These can also cause trouble. Also, have each player attempt to run the multi-player game in stand-alone mode. This will help rule out corrupted files.

No, we just played it straight through as is.
