not to worry CM. better to report it and be a hoax than say nothing.

For some reason i am not surprised, it probably asked one to delete some kind of file from your hard disk like system.ini ;)

He has Windows installed on his D drive! :D

bah!! responded to Sleepy's first post and the thread ran away from me! :D

Re Windows, btw, I heard that many Windows corrupting viruses look for C:\Windows. If you install to C:\Win, you may avoid some of these nasties :)

Well get the lasoo then! :D

So that was the cause of all those ME probs :D :D

A lot of zip executables look for windows/temp, so changing it can cause problems.

It is not about 'changing it' after installation, you need to specify before install. My only problem - ever - with ME was after installing PoR and corrupting my file system   I have had my various Windows always installed to C:\Win, and I have had Win 95, 98 and ME :)

It can work, but then some programs can get confused because they are looking for Windows just the same as it stops viruses, if one is not an advanced user it can get very confusing :)

No, I think BS and I will continue to be the forum drunks for a while. What do mean by 'just wondering when you make more sense'. I do some of my best thinking and work with a solid beer buzz.

That is good, i though my reply might have confused everyone including myself :D I haven't had an infection either (that i know of ;) ) although i have caught many, the virus situation seems to have cooled a little recently, but it wont be long before we get another Lovebug or somesuch.
