So...
Anyone seen any good movies lately?
Just recently saw A.I. Dumbest movie ever! It had some..."interesting ideas"...but it was really disjointed. Don't see this.
Saw Rat Race. Absolutly hilarious.
Saw Don't Say a Word. Great mystery plot and good action.

Saw Amelie. Fantastic, bizarre film. Half the audience was annoyed because they didn't understand. The rest of us thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, and maybe better, since sliced bread doesn't even begin to compare to riding a sled at breakneck speed down a steep hill in your underwear.

I remember seeing that too a while ago. The effects with the talking photos and of the utopian happy society portrayed was a change from the Hollywood action block busters.

Saw Ali. Pretty good overall, though a bit disjointed. I was quite impressed by Will Smith's performance.
Saw Strictly Ballroom - very Baz Luhrmann

We may be talking about different films--Amelie was set in Paris, with a collection of oddball characters. I don't remember any talking pictures, but a collection of strange facts were given about any character when they were first introduced. And at one point, a lawn gnome starts taking trips around the world, and sending back pictures of itself to a somewhat staid old doctor.

If it's cinema talk, the last thing I saw was Atlantis. Before that, think it was Digimon.
Now if we're talking any movie, I'd have to include Big Trouble in Little China/Willow/Cube. Those 3 are excellent, if a scene or two on the gory side (those who've seen know).

Just saw Bob Roberts (the Tim Robbins film) on HBO for the first time. Pretty interesting, esp. in light of recent events in the world...

Yeah, a great film! The way Amelie talks in the bginning of the film kind of reminded me of "Le huitième jour". Have you seen "Le goût des autres" ("The taste of others" in English) BTW? A very nice French movie too, a bit older so you could probably get it on VHS/DVD. One of those films where you meet one person, who then meets another, who meets another...
