fire giant in watchers keep

hey!
i have problems killing the fire giant holding the last scepter in lvl 2 of the watchers keep. i've lured the fire elementals to the ice room, but the lava pit in the fire room keeps healing the fire giant and i can't kill it. is this a bug or have i missed something.

You've probably missed something.
There are 4 greater fireelementals to be destroyed in the iceroom before the giant becomes vulnerable. After that you just send in your fighters.
If you have mages, use icebased spells and definitely not fire spells.
The giant have always been very easy to defeat in my games - even to a lowlevel character.

Have you tried to lure him out of the room and near the ice room? You'll need to place someone in stealth mode near the door of lava room, who will close the door behind the giant once he is a bit away.
It wasn't an easy task in my case, anyway.

yes..i've even lured him in to the ice room, but lava pit heals him there too. really weird.

Either you haven't killed 4 fire elementals --are you sure about the counting?-- or you're facing some kind of bug. Yet, I don't understand, how lava can still be healing him since he's in the ice room and you're fighting him?
You can also try to open the door in the lava room and leave another fire elemental come out, kill it and then retry to kill the fire giant. If this doesn't work either, then you would have to load a previous saved game and start over.
