issue with cleric/mage high lvl abilities

The issue is I'm playing with Aerie and she advances faster in cleric levels than mage levels and every high level spell she gets is put into her priest spell side. Even when she goes up mage level and picks a sp. ability it goes on her priest scroll. Is there a fix for this? My 7th level priest section is overflowing with cool spells and my 9th level mage side is barren. This really sucks for obvious reasons.
The other issue with sp. abilities I noticed is with Jaheira. When she levels up as a fighter she is eligible for druid powers and spells. This doesn't seem right. I'm not complaining too loudly because it's taking foever just to get to 15th lvl druid, but for reality sake, you would think leveling as a fighter is not teaching you anything about druid abilities.
Thoughts?

@Luther, I've had Jaheira in four out of five of my parties, and I've never seen what you're referring to. I'm not denying it's happened for you; I only wonder whether you've got the latest bugfixes. I'd suggest saving your savefile directory elsewhere, uninstalling, reinstalling and adding the various bugfixes, including Baldurdash's.

Well, I've had the latest bioware patch installed from the very beginning and just recently installed the Baldurdash bugfix patch so I'm not sure what's causing this. I'm not worried to much about the Jaheira bug cause it's in my favor, but the Aerie thing is kind of irritating.

I've never seen anything like the bug with Aerie that you have.
The thing with Jaheira isn't a bug as far as I know. Every multiclass character gets to choose from the whole group of abilities for each class each time they level up in either class. So my fighter thief Kayza Dia, for instance, gets to choose from greater whirlwinds or alchemy (hah!) every time he levels up. He can choose a whirlwind when he levels up as a thief, and assassination when he just leveled up as a fighter. That's just the way it goes and is one of the reasons that multiclass characters got a good deal in TOB.

Your problem with Aerie is that she probably hasn't reachedlevel 18 as a mage, so she can't cast level 9 mage spells, so the game won't allow you to select mage special spell abilities. So, until she hits level 18 mage, the only mage special abilities she'll get will be the additional level 6, 7 and 8 spells, and, IIRC, for instance, if you pick "additional level 8 spell" and she isn't lvl 16 mage, that additional lvl 8 spell won't appear (i think it'll appear when you hit lvl 16)
For multiclasses, i agree with you: the special ability you pick should be selected ONLY from the class you just leveled-up, for obvious reasons, but what you are having with jaheira isn't a bug (well, not officially, although it surelly is bad programming...).

i don't really agree that it's bad programming or a bad idea - these characters are multiclass, they get some advantages and some disadvantages for that. A lot of people would say that the druid experience chart is totally screwed anyway. As jaheira levels up, she can choose certain druid type abilities (the advanced shapechanges) even though she has actually leveled up as a fighter, and use them. I don't think this is unbalanced because her shapechanges into bear and wolf have become completely useless by then. She can also choose the 'Quest' level spells, but it doesn't matter because she only has 2 7th level spell slots until she levels up to 15 in druid anyway.
With my fighter/thief, I think it makes sense because I see my character as focussing more on thief or fighter - I could choose evasions and assassinations or I could focus more on whirlwinds and hardiness, depending on which role I see the character taking in the party.
I do think that the system as it is implemented in BG2 favors the multiclass, and specifically the multiclass that has one half as fighter, because with cleric, mage and thief you take the couple good abilities and then you sort of run out. With a fighter you keep taking whirlwinds. This seems good to me, though, because i have always preferred the fighter/...... multiclass anyway. Especially in Baldur's gate 2 and throne of baal which are really just combat games.

Leoric is right, Aerie hasn't reached lvl 18 yet as a mage so she's not getting the quest spells on that side. The only problem is clerics get quest spells at an earlier level so everytime she levels up in cleric or mage, I pick a quest spell and it goes on her cleric side. By the time I reach lvl 18 mage, I'll have no more quest spells to choose from and won't be able to utilize them as frequently because they are all on my priest side. Has anyone else experienced this with Aerie? Seems to follow the logic of gaining sp. abilities so I can see how this little detail would be overlooked.
Now the question is, how do I edit her to transfer those priest spells to her mage side?
