Hello,
Don't highlight if you haven't been to the city Winterhold!
I've been playing a this awesome addition to TES for a few days on & off now. And I've delved fairly deep into it now. I managed to get to the city of Winterhold awhile back. Recently I got a quest called
Onmund's Request from Onmund in the Mage's College.
Supposedly he traded away his family amulet (heirloom) to a wanna-be-fence named Enthir (also a mage). Now Onmund wants that amulet back, but Enthir refuses to trade it. If you talk to Enthir and keep bugging him about getting it back, he'll tell you he traded away a staff that he also wants back.
SPOILERS
I took the time to run/walk all the way to the cave you're supposed to get to and whatnot to retrieve the staff that Enthir asks for in exchange for the heirloom Onmund foolishly traded away.
I'm deep inside the cave and I've encountered another one of those fish, bird, snake pillar puzzles.
(They've been getting tedious)
So straight to my question, aside from trying out 16 or so different combinations -- has anyone made it that far/ found out what works? I'm pretty limited each time I play as I only have a few hours every other day.
TIA~

Talk to.... Birna, I think her name was, in the town. She runs the general store. If you talk to her about her business and a bad deal she made, you can buy another of those dragon claw/key pieces from her for 50 gold.

Bird - Snake - Whale - Snake
this asked for a bit of detectivity and was hell anoying but i manged.
i am actualy suprised that they made this riddle so hard.
oh and you owe me a beer - i registrated just to tell you this solution
wihtout it, only few ppl will figure it out.
the guys who made this game just gained few points in my eyes. this was hell of a riddle.

I noticed on some of the puzzles there's a
reference point. It's not an easy find if you don't know what to look for though  I appreciate the help nonetheless. I've also found out (in-game) that the puzzles have a flaw. I'm trying to figure what that might be...

And agreed, they put more work into the mini riddles/puzzles this time around. Atleast it makes you think rather than let the game play itself. Good way to handle that flaw with many other games I'd say.
