Imbue Item

Sometimes you read something that really throws your metagaming back a few steps. I just read on the Wikis that it was MotB that introduced the Imbue Item class feat for Warlocks, not the official campaign. You guessed it right; it was not explained properly if it would work in the OC itself, while having MotB installed. Does anyone have the skinny on that?

Not even something I've tested.. (..and I've played through with a warlock twice.)
I just use companions for enchanting..

Scottg, do you think you could possibly test this out for me? I don't have the right computer at my disposal right now and it will take me another few weeks for before I can start to install NWN2 again. I'd really like to figure this stuff out in advance.
I'm currently playing through NWN1 on an older computer and I'm trying to pick up on lots of lore. I plan on moving on to NWN2 afterwards. Ideas that came to fruitation while playing NWN1 (+ NWN PRC) seem easier to accomplish in NWN2, so I can't help but plan ahead a little. There are some good character builders out there on the Internet these days, but there is no way for me to test this.

I'll look for an old save, but don't hold your breath - I usually delete them.
No saves.. did a warlock in Vordan's leveled, exported over to the OC then to Fort Locke.. but forgot to add-in craft wondrous item feat (or magical arms and armor). (I know, IDIOT..) HOWEVER, when I did try it - it gave me the correct statement that I lacked the feat, NOT a spell.
My guess is - it works.
I used the console to give me the feat.
It works!

Thank you! That saved me from a lot of restless nights.

Your welcome!
Again though, consider that it requires the feats you need for the particular item (either "Magical Arms and Armor" or "Wondrous Item").
I always use companions for my enchanting/crafting (..and build-out the feats on my character for optimum offense/defense.)

I played it like that before, many times over. I want to be the one that provides for the party for a change.
It's actually interesting because the int I need for all the extra crafting skills will get me some intelligence based combat feats that I normally don't use much. That's cool too because I will let this Warlock make plentifull use of the Hideous Blow blast shape. No ranged touch attacks for me.

The Hideous Blow is HORRENDOUS! VERY poorly implemented into the game.
There are however two "patches" for this.. I believe Warlockbuddy and one other. Neither are great, but they aren't bad either.
Frankly Kaedrins is the way to go for a non-standard Warlock. (..though if you do you might start to reconsider you idea of spending feats on crafting.)
I definitely recommend a fair bit of testing in something like Vordans before pursuing this.

So.. Hiddeous Blow = Horrendous Blow. That should make it even better.
I'll have to rethink this, I'm not fond of Kaedrin's.

You cast Hiddeous Blow - pretty much a full round to do so.
You *try* to hit an opponent, though at your highest attack number (..in melee only) - another full round. Strength modifier unless you have Weapon Finesse, if so then Dexterity modifier.
ONE attack only.
If you hit you'll get your weapon damage and your Eldritch damage - to that one opponent.
Rinse and Repeat.
It's unbelievably tedious.

And it takes so long that all of your other party members will have finished the battle before you attack more than 3 times.
I think Warlock Buddy auto-casts it for you once it's used up, but I don't remember how long it takes. (i.e. if it's an "instant" cast or it also takes a full round.)

But your blast damage gets stronger. And unlike the ranged attack, you get to add the weapon damage & possible effects on top of it. And you can disarm. And..
I'll reroll.
