Help with save game editor?

okay so i have the save game editor 1.8
and when i open the editor it is the page with all the bars that have spaces for name, age, race and so on. none of that is clickable. its all greyed out and stuff. so i click file, open, then i guess this is where i am supposed to search in my program files for my saved game. but i CANT find my game?
i have looked all over the forums and all i can find is people saying to click file, open, arcanum, modules, save/ whatever...
but i cant find any of that. i know the game is somewhere because i play the damn game!! so it is saved somehwere. where the hell is it!!
