What if...

What do you think would be cool on oblivion?
For example-
Making towns/camps to start a group.
Making your own swords, axes, etc.
Enchating more than one time.
So what do you think?

Putting more than one enchantment on an item.

There's been a mod available for some time that takes care of that, you can find it
here

Haha, you're the boss! When something is possible you'll post a link and when it's not possible you always know why
Thanks for the link, although I don't install game changing mods

Hey, what about dual welding and bigger, badder, meaner spells

Dual wielding is pretty good. Iirc, you could do that in Morrowind.

I don't think so Fljotsdale, unless there was a mod that managed it. I tried a few mods that had off-hand 'weapons' only they weren't weapons as such but parrying devices that were basically shields in disguise.

1. I'd love it if wearing a faction's costume would let you infiltrate or at least give you an extra couple seconds of reaction time instead of automatically being tagged as an outsider.
2. It would be sweet if you could lock down items after you place them on a shelf or table. In Morrowind, when you dropped something it didn't move. In Oblivion, you get too close to your trophies and they go flying.
3. Rock climbing. No disrespect intended to those of us with hooves, but when a hill that is impassible to a character possessing wits and opposable thumbs is easily negotiated on horseback, well, that's utterly ridiculous.

I agree with all three of those, the third one though, mmm, I guess they had to find some reason to have horses in the game!

No, I didn't use mods at all for Morrowind - I only rarely use em in any game. But I'm fairly sure (but I could easily have got myself confused!) you could dual wield in one of the Elder Scrolls games. I've played Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard (not sure if Elder Scrolls), Morrowind and expansions, Oblivion and expansions.
If not in any of those I really have got my brain in a knot!

Yes, particularly locking things in place - though you'd also need an unlock function in case you wanted to move stuff later.
As for hill-climbing - the better your Agility the more easily you can climb; but yes, it seems silly horses can do what they couldn't in real life! But hey! It's a game!

Mostly, I avoid getting a horse. The exception is Shadowmere, of course.

I am 80% sure a mod with that very thing in mind has been made. Search Tesnexus.

I top you with a GRAPPLING HOOK. Man, I had was so much fun with that when someone made one for Unreal back in the day. I was swinging my way all over the place. Oblivion is not much of a vertical game though.. except for perhaps the Oblivion realms.

What wouldn't I give for that
Getting from around in an Oblivion realm was a real pain and the maps didn't help much at times. Imagine... just one hook and the Sigil Stone is yours for the taking. Batman's spandex would make a fine compliment too

Dragons would be cool and a smarter AI would be nice istead of eating every 23 hours and having 20 sec talks and so on.

Uh... eating? I don't think any of my chars have ever eaten anything except an ingredient by accident. Never done 'em the least harm!

I have to agree that the AI conversations are probably the most irritating thing in Oblivion. And to think that was hyped up by the devs once to "add more life" to the game.
