There is one good item in the game, which is not mentioned in any walkthrough.

Gloves of Light Weight (I don’t know the exact English name of this gloves, because I have a Russian version of the game). It gives -50 to weight. You don’t need to wear it, you can just keep it in an inventory. This gloves are very useful, because weight is always a problem in this game.

You can win it from three gargoyles on the roof of a tall tower in the House of Gems (external), but only after a speaking column in the Nightingale Court tells you about it. The path to the root goes via the Halls of Light.

I discovered this useful item while playing the game for the third time. I already knew all items in the game and I liked to recognize items the speaking column told me about. But I didn’t remember that gloves. Then I went to the mentioned direction and found it.

The Gauntlets of Light Burden are mentioned in the official Prima guide (which, to be fair, may not have been published in Russian); they are only available on the top of that tower after your party has managed to escape the Dwarven Dungeons.

I'm also working on a walkthrough for this game (from the perspective of using a solo adventurer), and those gauntlets will definitely be mentioned.

There is a similar item, later in the game: Aasirak's Ivory Twin Ring of Power, if carried but not worn, deducts -249 from weight. (Its companion, the Ebony Twin Ring, weighs +250; both rings have a weird combination of penalties and bonuses that cancel each other out when worn at the same time, leaving the bearer with the ability to cast the powerful spells Heal and Finger of Death.)

Yes, I haven’t read that guide.

The problem with those gauntlets is that you have already visited the tower by the time when you escape the dungeons, and you don’t have any reasons to revisit it unless the speaking column tells you about it. You can hardly miss any item in the game if you explore every corner on maps. But those gauntlets are concealed well.

I didn’t like those rings and never wore them (I only kept the ring -249 in an inventory). As well as a similar leather armor that gives -100 to weight.
