What am I supposed to do against Kahrk?

I'm using the complete Baldur's Gate thing, with all the compilation mods, and I swear Kahrk isn't meant to be this overpowered. The thing casts Shield, Mirror Image, Haste, Fire Shield, Minor Globe, Stoneskin and Protection From Magical Weapons. My characters are all level 6, and not once has my dispel magic ever worked. What the hell am I meant to do against him? I've tried moving away, sleeping and resting to reset his spells, try and sneak up on him, backstab him, try and speak to him so I can a few seconds to cast spells before he beefs up, absolutely nothing I can do. How am I meant to dispel this guy? It seems impossible.

He's an Ogre Mage right? Try an arrow of slaying from the Sorcerous Sundries store in BG.
Or else let him waste his spells on summons while you pelt him with non-magical arrows/bolts/stones, then move in with melee characters once his mirror image and stoneskin etc are gone.

Protection from magic weapons is a very short duration spell (3 to maybe 5 rounds IIRC).
Granted your mage would have to be 9th level, but casting Cloudkill will put a big hurt on him. That is a 5th level spell so minor globe does not protect him. As it is magical damage, neither will any of the other spells.
Wand of the Heavens is another effective weapon against him. Any Cleric or Druid of any level can use it, it employs a 5th level spell, Flame Strike. Again, minor globe will not protect against it.
A low level stategy that might work is:
Have your thief hide in shadows to scout out the location. Position your mage just behind but out of sight and have them cast a web spell, preferably two, into the area. When webbed he cannot cast spells (entangle still allows opponents to cast and shoot). Step up and then missle him to death. Not very heroic, but should get the job done.
