Crash at Grout's Mansion

Post by Althea 6 »

Hi,

I've played the game several times now, as I really love this game :) .
I recently downloaded patch 6.9 and started a new game (as a female Nosferatu).

I've entered the Grout Mansion and I played the music in the room that contains Grout's wife. Door unlocked and when I opened it, it crashed to my desktop however when it started loading.
I've tried several times to enter Grout's room (even using a SAVE game from before the mansion); but to no avail. :(

This is one of the crash logs:

vampire caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module engine.dll at 001b:20032f14.

If you use the console to enter the room does it still crash? The command is map la_malkavian_4

You should be able to save right before that point. However, I must ask, did you try and play the sound files that are in the game directory?

Re:

Thnx for your answer. I've tried to use it, but unfortunately it had the same results.
It's alright to ask, but no; I didn't listen to the sound files.

Just trying to eliminate somethings here. Try saving the game, quit, wait a bit, then go back into the game. If that doesn't work, then try a reboot instead of waiting. If that doesn't work, well, I'm not sure after that.
