Bloody, Bleeping Securom!

Post by dragon wench »

A friend who shall remain nameless, convinved me to reinstall a certain game that shall also remain nameless.
After about 1.5 days spent downloading mods for afore-mentioned game, I was finally ready to install the damn thing.

I inserted the disc.. lo and behold and received some kind of Securom error.

No matter how many times I attempted to install, I received the same bloody message.

Since I had preiously installed the game (before putting Dragon Age Origins on my computer) with no issues, and I don't, to the best of my knowledge, use any kind of emulation software... the air around me began to turn a very interesting shade of blue as I muttered various unrepeatable imprecations.

I then did some Googling and discovered the culprit.. seems this little addition is often a feature of EA games.
Dragon Age is the only EA title on my computer...

Fortunately, there is a fix, and I decided to post it here in case anyone else encounters this problem:

Bookmarked. I usually tweak and strip the heck out of Windows, so I always am bound to run into these unsolvable problems. Thanks. :)

I don't know about the rest of you but I am morbidly curious to see exactly how foul-mouthed Wenchy can get.

If you want to hit me with a PM and try taking a strip off me with the most horrid spew of hatred you got, I'd be willing to grade it and critique it.

*bookmarked* Thanks for that link!

I wonder if other DRM schemes also have uninstall mechanisms. I might just go out and buy computer games again if they do.
