I am a little unclear about how this works.

The way I understand it is once you reach maximum Light Side or Dark Side you receive the following benefits:

Light Guardian: +3 Strength
Weapon Master: +3 Strength
Light Sentinel: +3 Constitution
Watchman: +3 Constitution
Light Consular: +3 Wisdom
Jedi Master: +3 Wisdom

Dark Guardian: +1-8 Damage
Marauder: +1-8 Damage
Dark Sentinel: +3 Dexterity
Assassin: +3 Dexterity
Dark Consular: +50 FP
Sith Lord: +50 FP

If this is true though, why have I not received the bonus +3 constitution for reaching max Light Side. I am a Light side level 12 Sentinel and have the streaming pillar of light around my character in the character review screen so I assume I have reached max.

Do you have to achieve your prestige class before you are granted the bonus?

This leads me to another question, do you get both the bonus for your starting class, and the bonus for your prestige class?

I think it's just a matter of your perception. You are probably stuck on 99% LS and thus cannot get the extra bonuses.

Ok, so then presumably once I get a few more light side points, I will be awarded the bonus, and then once I pick my prestige class I will immediately be awarded that bonus too?

IIRC your non prestige bonus gets replaced by the prestige bonus.

No.

Yes, but it's probably bad programming. Should your alignments momentarily shift, you'll lose both masteries. Upon re-maximizing your alignment, you'll only regain one mastery bonus.

It is quite difficult to succesfully influence all npc's before you gain your prestige class.

What does IIRC mean?

And are you sure? Because Tricky is saying that you do get both of the bonuses unless your alignment shifts from 100%.

IIRC means if I recall correctly, or incorrectly in this case. Technically, the prestige bonus should replace the non-prestige one, but I can't say for sure if they are cumulative as I haven't played this game in some time. If they are indeed cumulative then it is as Tricky says; bad programming is to culprit.

Interesting, gotta love all the goofy bugs that obsidian left for everyone to deal with... Well thanks for the help, and it turns out you were right: I was one good deed from lightside mastery =-D I felt so dumb... It was pretty sad. It seems like it is easier to reach lightside mastery than dark, but I digress.

I first learned from the stacking mastery bonus on Aeon's KOTOR 2 guides, which is one of the best guides available. In truth, maintaining mastery along the course of a game is almost inpracticle, so I don't think it matters that much.
