Hey guys, I'm new here, and I got a question. SO I started a half giant melee character, but I'm unsure of what spec to go with. Duel weild, 2 handed or 1h + block?

thanks :)

If you're only going to have one melee character, then I'd suggest using shield and sword. Then your character will rarely die, and you'll avoid some headaches. Better yet, if you have Broken World, then make your character a Fist of Stone.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I will probably NOT be the only melee'er in the group. A friend of mine told me that a fat 2 handed weapon would be best.. I'm not sure if I'll trust him :p

I do not got Broken World so no Fist of Stone for me (what is it?).

If I got another melee'r in the group what would be best then?

Fist of stone has some skills that make your tank (1 hander + shield) even more tough, tons of hit points and defense - he'll never fall unconscious. Even without it though, you can make a powerful tank. For me, a 2-hander melee would probably rank last out of the three types; a dual wielder gets as much or better damage and is much faster. You want at least two melee characters, one for high damage and one to take the brunt of the damage and take the heat off of your mages (with the provoke skill).

You can always play around with the all the different NPC's over the different difficulty levels. With the character-specific quests and swapping party members and all, you'll have the chance to experiment with pretty much every build for each class over the course of the game if you wish to.

Sounds good... I'll go for Dual Weild then, and make Lothar a tank :)

Thanks a lot, I've finally found an active DS2 forum!
