hey everybody, i'm new here and this is my first post. i love the kotor series and i can't wait for the third... anyway, i like the light and dark side, but i usually play lightside, because i think the dark side is too evil it's almost fiendish, and less manipulative like a true dark sider. does anyone else know what i'm talking about?
that's something i definately want changed in the third.

I agree that there are very few dialogue options that are manipulative. It seems the dark side is strictly a murderous rage -fun for a time but less than fufilling. The light side seems sickenling sweet - morally uplifting but way too Dudley DoRightish (is that a word???). It would be excellent to twist some quest NPCs to do some evil deeds on your behalf. I know you can influence your companions, this would be like Force Dominate Mind where the target would perform some evil deed for you. Also, I woul like to see some Kreia like options in the dialogue where you are twisting the truth "from a certain point of view".:mischief:

Hello:devil:
I have been busy for a couple of days so I havent been able to post but as soon as I saw a discussion about the Sith I couldnt resist from replying.Anyway I'll get strait to the point, in the Star Wars universe there are 2 types of Sith the sithlord and the cronies the Sith lord is the one with the manipulative capabilities and the cronies purpose is to kill.
They all have their place...feindish sounds good hehehehaha:mischief:
Oh and welcome to the forum i sugest you do some modifying to your profile like a avatar,signature,ect.

Welcome to the new member and good to have you back Sithlord1989.
As for this topic, I think that dark side acts should be more than just cruel conversations. A man is not judged by what he says, but by what he does! So I think you should gain DS points for casting dark side powers at poeple! And then people will fear you, then you will slaughter them secelessly and then go conquering the galaxy!

Very true.
For example, at the start of K2 on Peragus, you have the intercom exchange, and it seems as though the DS path is to say "leave me alone!" (I know you don't actually get points for this, but still it makes my point). Now, why, as you're about to enter a gas-filled life-risking situation would you not use any help you could get? I always wanted the option of going through Peragus being all nice to Atton et al, then getting on the Ebon Hawk and shutting the door before they could get on... that's more DS in my opinion! Though it would ruin the rest of the game slightly...

If you want to be the most dark side person of all cast: Plaegue on sick people, Kill on wounded people, Drain Life on old people, Destroy Droid on droids, Drain Force on jedi, Force Scram on sencitive people and Force Storm on just about anything you can find. :devil:

Typical darksiders
feindish = fiendish
secelessly = senselessly
sencitive = sensitive
Too busy slaughtering innocents to use spell check. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

As I've said before everyone has their place evil or good,we all serve our purposes.Both the sith,and the jedi know this.By me fitting my speech patterns with my username SithLord Im giving guidance to the future sith,doing my duty,because its my place.

yes i totally agree with this. i think that there should be more "grey" dialogue and quest options, instead of either the lightside or darkside.

I can't help but imagine:
Please, help! These big bad thugs are going to kill me!
1. No, they won't. Here, take my credits and my lightsaber.
2. They aren't bad. You'll get nowhere labelling people with "good" and "bad".
3. They won't kill you before I do!
Grey "side" points gained
You have grey mastery!

I think that would be awesome to be a grey jedi like Jolee Bindo, and have all the force benefits for having "grey side mastery" (but it would get confusing since you would start out in the middle of the spectrum anyway....... I don't know, I just think it would be cool.

Jolee was A pain in the %$#.
He was always backtalking me, if it had been an option earlier in the game I would have chopped him in half and would have thrown his carcase to the shyracks.:laugh:And the dark side isnt too much, it is not enough,those of you that want to be grey do so but leave the dark side out of it.:devil:

Heh heh. Or, "you have gained Grey points. But as you're neutral, this won't bother you in the slightest."
I'd like to be less of a student and more of a teacher in the next game. So after a situation you can turn to your padawan and say "What did we learn from that?"
Then the choice
"1. People aren't all bad and sometimes need to be given a chance to fulfil their potential"
"2. It's better to get someone else to do your work than do it yourself."
And so on.

"I hate these filthy neutrals Kif! With enemies you know where they stand but with neutrals? Who knows! It sickens me."
Seriously though the idea is interesting, but every character in the SW universe who has tread this path has ended up being DS. Except Bindo, but I never saw him as neutral, he behaved much more LS than neutral. I think it is part of the mythos that any use of DS powers, no matter how well intentioned eventually results in the corruption of the wielder.

Well there are many strange cases of the DS's influence some are raised by sith,others fall like anakin or for instance juhanni one DS act and bye bye LS.:mischief:
Also I'm with you on the nuetral bull^$$#,what a waist of time plus you cannot get a bonus on your force powers.

although i agree, and in context of KotOR being real life, it's perfectly logical, it would make it harder for LSers to stay LS and still go through the game. although it's supposed to be hard to stay on the path of the light, it's a bit excessive. it would restrict LSers to few, if any, DS powers. the counter-balance would have to be a lot of LS dialogue options, LS gain for using LS powers (in combat), or a combination of both.

No it won't be harder. You can also gain LS points for casting LS powers on people who need help (example: heal on injured people). That restricts DSers to few, if any, LS powers (so it's a good balance). You also gain LS points for giving nessecary stuff to people. The many LS dialogues is not recomended (but there should be a bit more of them). Using LS and DS powers in combat in no factor once so ever. Would I really need to gain LS points for casting Heal, or DS points for casting Force Scream in combat? No!
