Read in the walkthrough that you have to pour water on him with a command word...what in hell does this mean? I figured that the decanter of endless water would have helped him out, but talked to him when I had it and nothing happened. Hope I still have it!

Hi Skeelo;talk to the stone-head-in-the-wall somewhere in the catacombs; he will direct you to a person on the Clerk's Ward who knows the command word.

Hmm I did talk to him, don't remember him saying anything bout that. Guess I will come across him when I get to clerks ward. I hope! Do I have all possible NPCs at this point? Just entering Lower ward, have morte, Annah and Dakkon.

@Skeelo, there are seven possible NPCs who can join you. If you want more details, ask, but I don't want to offer spoils unless you seek 'em.

Talk to the dead body of Chad in the Weeping Stones Catacombs. If you help him out, he'll tell you where you can get the Decanter of Endless Water. (You'll still need to get it properly magicked, but that's another small quest.) Then you use the Decanter on Ignus, and he's freed.

About Ignus--be very careful how you handle him. Play along with his love of flames. Don't contradict him. That is, assuming you want to keep him. He has some good spells, and his long range flame attack amounts to the only ranged attack you'll find until you discover Nordem. But he's unstable, and good party NPCs won't be pleased with him.

Ok but I can't get Ingus till I go to the Clerks Ward to get the command word right?

@Skeelo, that's right. The command word is essential.

Isn't there supposed to be a Lady's Ward, too, in Sigil?

Yes, but you don't get to go there in this game.
