I didn't find a thread about this, so I'm going to ask.
When you summon creatures, will they count as a part of the party or do they act as a individual on their own?
I'm planing on making a summoner, but if they don't share the exp for the kills they do, it's not worth it.
So... .Anyone have a clue about this?

Summoned creatures do not take up slots in the party (like the way pets do). You can have primary + 3 NPC/pets (on Mercenary) + up to one summoned creature per character. I don't know about splitting the xp.

im not sure about exp sharing, but if i read correctly in another thread, exp is shared but i tink creating a nature mage as special'in on summoning is not a good idea, at high levels, you cant depend on ur summons, their attacks are too low and if u don't level up damage to ur character enough, you'll be very weak

Summons xp is shared like normal. At higher levels they are quite valuable as meat shields. The damage they do is a bonus.

Yeah, summons don't count towards your party. It's just a temporary addition to your team until the timer runs out or they get defeated.
That's the cool thing about Dungeon Siege. You can have a party of 4 magic users (Nature or Combat) and have 4 summons and it's like walking around with a party of 8.
As for any damage that summons does, the experience goes directly to the caster. Summons don't have experience levels, they are only at the same level of the caster who created them.
