are we all agreed that kotor III must establish a link between kotor and the pre film era? this could be done with the emersion of yoda and darth plaugeous (dartht sidious' master) right at the end, perhaps revan could be plauegous' master? he could have been away training him during KOTOR II?

tell me of your views, please dont lock this its more specific than others.

before they could get to yoda and his time, they might wanna introduce darth ruin or the dark underlord or sumthin with the new sith war or battle of ruusan. there seems not to be too much info out there on those guys, at least none that i could find, so a new adventure fighting them might be kinda cool. but i do agree that eventually, they've got to get to yoda's time, and then beyond with jeina and anakin solo and all that good stuff. :D of course, that wouldnt come for a long, long time.

whoo! i just realized ima exalted member! not that ne1 cares...

I agree there should be alink between the game and the movies. i reckon it should show a bit in the game where you discover planets in the movies or fight on Mustafar or Yavin 4 as that has ramificiations throughout all the stuff to do with star wars, including exar kun and luke skywalker. or even better you get to mee tby some miracle the characters from the movies by a weird trans-dimensional portal, and they tell you the truth of what happened to Revan and the Exile, and maybe you go to Earth? but maybe thats hoping to much?

This link could be established with visiting Yavin 4 at the Masassi Temple. This is where Luke Skywalker establishes his Jedi Academy after the Battle of Endor. This would make a serious tie to the movies. The Battle of Yavin is based off the Masassi Temple.

I guess I remain unconvinced that there needs to be a link between the game and the movies. One of the features that I've found interesting about the KoTOR games is that they show some of the ability of the Star Wars universe to exist independently of the films. I'm sure the expanded universe literature does this to some extent as well, but I'm unfamiliar with most of it. Regardless, it does seem that the KoTOR titles have shown that there is a great deal of interesting stories and history worth exploring and inventing in the thousands of years the Republic has existed. Regardless, I'm not really opposed to some sort of link - as long as its not forced to take too much of a central role.

I couldn't agree more. I prefer the games remain apart from the films. We have all the links to the movies we need: we have Jedi, we have Sith, we have the Force, we have the Republic. We don't need anything else. Maybe a few sparse planets, but that's all. No need to ruin a good series by lamely tacking on something referring to the movies.

Count me in on not wanting big links. We had a planet that's linked to the films, Tatooine, and it made no sense. It was identical to how its portrayed in the films even though they're 4000 years later.

I'd rather they just tell the stories and create the places that are set in the relative 'now' of the games. And if they must use any of the 'famous' planets then make them significantly/realistically different to how they're shown in the films.

impossible

i've just been on wikkipedia looking this up and it has a huge list of sith lords between revan and sidious so at the current time the kotor series is at it is impossible to create a link as there is still to many sithlords left in between, hope fully that means lots more games in between, even though i doubt there'll be more than one new kotor game, we'll have to see how it ends.

perhaps there could be another series of games or films in which we encounter these sith lords :D
