i love it. its awsome hehe no more "godly" items. thats so kool. i can actually duel and not have to deal with em! i did good before the patch...now im kickin major *ss. though there is one thing i saw...a fire bolt sorceres...she hit me once...and i died...i have 1100+ life and max resistances in hell and she killed me in one hit! uhg!

What are the big changes in the patch?

wohoo..... I'm lovin the new patch especially the amount of anti rusjing stuff they put into the game.... you actually have to find kalims will to kill mephisto (well almost there are ways to work around it put their annoying...) also the way that now if I invest into cold arrow early in the game I'll still have use of it later as it adds to my frozen arrow


I have yet to experience the world event (as I'm only lvl 47 with my ladder char) but it's supposed to be really cool....

oh and BTW I'm online like 5 h each day gameing my acc is garazdawi (big surprise) if anyone want to game let me know

I love the patch too. specially the anti rush stuff ive heard alot of people say they like it. the only who have spoke against it are the ones that had alot of bugs. i did do the diablo clone thing the other night with my 96 zon and my friends sorcy. the sorcy helps alot. the charm is sweet, looks like diablos soul stone. i was going to ladder but i couldnt figure out what skills to use on a new zon. i was gonna do strafe...but its crap..gets you killed so i think im gonna do multi/ga/frozen arrow.
the compelng orb quest: i heard rumors that a rare jewel or what ever would drop. any luck with that?

id play now...but my hard drive died today *sigh* im on my laptop now.

that's exactly the build I have on my ladder zon... I don't really like the new ga as it seems under powered somehow.... but that could come from the fact that I have a really sucky bow so far, but I'm having high hopes as a friend just told me he found a bow that will suit my needs

So the patch finally was released while I was in Bangkok? Great, and thank you Humanflyz for keeping us updated! I'm at Europe as well, and I will start playing as soon as I've finished the workload that accumulated while I was on holiday!

@Garaz: It's C_Elegans, of course But I will not start playing yet, I have too much work right now to become addicted to D2 again It will have to wait a couple of weeks, I think.

Sorceress

Hey can anybody help me a little with the sorceress character, like for one i am at level 26 right now and i still can't get a hold of that meteor spell, and it says required at levle 24. And i also need some good sorceress stuff, like the most common thing to be used with her throughout the game. I just recently started playing D2-LOD and need some help if all possible, my account name on battle.net is HELLRAISER-LOD on there if anyone wants to play in a room with me, of course i play on the EAST part of battle.net, drop me a message sometime, thanks.

Hello KG4LYA, and welcome to the board!

The sorceress is my favorite class. All high level skills require prerequisite skills, which are marked by lines between the boxes in the skill tree. That means you have to have 1 skill point allocated to Firebolt, Fireball, Inferno, Blaze and Firewall before you can choose Meteor. Skills you get from items does not count unless you already have at least 1 skill point in that particular skill.

There are no items you can use through the whole game unless you are extremly lucky and find some godly items very early in the game. However, the best items also have level requirements, so count on changing eqipment continuously during the game. This is no disadvantage though, item finding is one of the most fun parts of the game!

Some general advice: specialise in a few skills, spreading out your skills points will result in a weak character who does not have enough killing power to play at Hell difficulty. Meteor is a very good skill, and have the most devastating effect if you also max Fireball (for synergy effects). If you plan to play a pure Firesorc, you should also max out Fire bolt and Fire Mastery. If you want to combine your fire skills with another skill tree (which I think is more fun but less efficient), a maxed out Frozen orb is a good choice.
