I just wanted to discuss what rules of flaming are deemed acceptable to people here.
Flaming happens all across the net, but are there some solid rules which you do not cross?
This link is pretty old as it discusses newsgroups.

But do rules like making fun of ones nick or that of the way one types english constitue flames?
I personally think that is patethic.

And no nobody can start a flaming session here. :D
Second i want to know for my own personal benefit, as i a novice.
Third are their any flame threads which i can read here. :D
I want to learn from the masters! :D
No i don't want examples of flames.

Good topic. There are a few threads around with flames. In do a search on "flame" with username "Gruntboy". :D

Seriously, it can be difficult, especially with native english speakers, because we like to flame each other just for the fun of it. :)

As with sex, so with flames: it's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for, you know. ;)

ALso search 'Waverly' and go to threads in which new people(then) posted in alot or started. You can see how much he torments them.

Rules!? Rules in a knife fight! - How about these ones:
Important: Breaking any of these rules may result in your account being banned, as well as your IP address range. Please take the time to read through them and abide by them to ensure that the GameBanshee Forums remain a high quality message board for everyone. And remember, considering the real-time nature of the GameBanshee Forums and the fact that we have lives outside of the internet, it is impossible for us to review all content as it's posted. If you find a post in violation of any of the following rules, email us and we will address the situation as soon as we can.

#1 - Flaming, humiliating, ridiculing, or belittling other members will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, take it to private messages or email.
#2 - Questions or ideas that deal with illegal activities, including any post related to software piracy, will be removed immediately and you'll lose all posting privileges.
#3 - Profanity and/or sexually explicit posts are unacceptable. Purposely posting profanity in a way as to avoid our filter will not be tolerated. In extreme cases, we may even file complaints with your ISP or hosting company.
#4 - Advertisements for your website or another forum should not be posted, except in your signature. The only other exception to this rule is if the link is to a page that answers the original poster's question.
#5 - Please do not spam. We are more lenient on spam in the Speak Your Mind forum, but excessive amounts will not be tolerated.
#6 - Generally, if a thread has no useful content for other members, or may offend someone, don't post it. Let common sense be your guide.
DISCLAIMER: GameBanshee is not responsible, whatsoever, for the content, legitimacy, or validity of the information in these forums. Please exercise caution and good judgement when utilizing the forums.

Dipping members in heated cheddar preparatory to rendering them into fondue is also not acceptable behavior.

This tends to get overlooked.
