Resurrecting

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums and to IWD2. My cousin and I just started playing the other day and we're still on the prologue. We're playing together over tcp/ip. Two of our characters died a while ago. Their portraits are grayed out. I talked with the local healer to pay for our characters to be rez'd, but i couldn't select the resurrect spell. I could select other spells, just not that one, or the raise dead spell. My cousin hosted the game, so he tried, but was unable to. Why is that? What must we do to revive our characters? My cleric is dead, not that she could cast Rez anyway. And potions tell me the char. is too far away.

Thanks for being on the forum everyone, I'm glad there's people willing to help us new-age noobs out :)

Did you check if you have enough money to pay for the resurrection ?

It's also possible that not all healers are able to cast all healing spells, in this case a more powerful priest might be able to help.

It's also possible to simply remove the dead party members from the party and create new ones. A few thousand XP more or less won't matter on the long run and hurt less than the gold you've to spend for resurrection.

The best solution is not to have dead party members. You can save often and reload to avoid having to search for a cure.

If you create a powerful party and/or change the difficulty setting you should be able to avoid deaths.

If you have cheats enabled, rather than ditching the character and creating a new, exactly-the-same character, just ctrl+R them. Should raise them to full hp.
