I just ordered MotB and SoZ, I was wondering if after installing those can I play through thr OC as one of the new races or classes?

Thanks, if I then export my character from the end of OC into MotB do I lose any of the OC special feats (rituals, etc.) and items (shards, sword of gith, etc.)? What about regular equipment and crafted items (enchanted harvest cloak, etc.)?
I read that the crafting system is different, and enjoyed that part the first times I played the OC... but is it worth replaying the OC again to set up my new character with some favorite equipment?

Though MOTB is a continuation module from the OC, there is no "set point" at the end of the OC to export your character. Basically you have to do this just before the end of the OC.. so you won't get all the XP that you might have otherwise.
I believe all the OC feats remain. Only *worn* items carry over, and weapons do NOT (..possibly not shields either). But yes, your own enchanted items that you actually *wear* are carried over with an export. (..I don't think gold carries-over either.)
It's really only worth playing the OC again for a different type of character, NOT for different equipment for MOTB.
MOTB has access to some pretty powerful equipment fairly early-on.
Crafting is a bit different in MOTB (see Thievesguild.net for particulars).
Crafting in MOTB is mostly there for weapon enchantment, and you can enchant a LOT of power into a weapon.
Note that Magic Users can have a tough time in MOTB with resting and replenishing spells, so be forewarned.

Thanks again I'm checking out new races and classes to play, so likely would replay OC anyway.
I'll have a look at the new crafting/ enchanting stuff as well

(emphasis added)
you can export at any moment during the final battle, before it's over ofc.
if you level up before doing that (since 20th level is often reached right in the middle of the battle, or slightly before) you'll keep your levels and all feats that are kept and stuff ...
if you export with a "+" indicator, that is a gained level but you don't level up, you'll start the expansion at your previous level(s).
you won't go past 20 anyway (or maybe 19 in case of high ECL, which is usually kind of balanced by bigger exp amounts for monster killing during the whole campaign, so you eventually make it to 20 unless you leave heaps of quests undone).
so there's no
"so you won't get all the XP that you might have otherwise" that would depend on exporting, but on the way you play the OC instead.

I should have said you *might not* get all the XP that you might have otherwise.
It isn't just a matter of how many quests you do, it's also a matter of what race you play.
