Does time go faster on the overland map than on the regular map?
Also, whenever you enter an encounter, do you keep your buffs? I've noticed a tendency in the OC with buffs disappearing after entering certain areas.
Currently, one of my partymembers is an Eldritch Knight, who relies heavily on buffs. Sadly, he's only playable if his spells are active. I don't want to have to rest after each encounter.
Thanks in advance!
Game time & Real time relation & buffs in SoZ
I *think* that time moves at the same pace.. but your party doesn't - it physically moves faster on the OM. (..someone calculated that his Sacred Fist was roughly doing a average of 60 miles per hour :speech: in dense jungle vegetation on the OM.)GawainBS wrote:Does time go faster on the overland map than on the regular map?

Note however that moving onto or off, (including random encounters), of the overland map *may* alter time. (..this aspect I'm considerably less sure of.)
Without a user made patch, buff's are usually striped in short order entering and exiting the OM.
Note that most spells don't last that long even if extended - so it probably is realistic that they get stripped going on the OM. A higher level character and certain spells that have 1 hour duration per class level (or 24 hour fixed), should be an exception.. but a very limited exception.
..anyway:
SOZ Overland Buff/Effect Preservation Mod -- Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault
BTW, EK's (and Wizards in general), should select the feat "Craft Wand" by about 9th level. Among other reasons - it provides you the ability to usually apply Buff's without wasting "spell slots" in your memorized spell book.
Wow, this download is exactly what I needed. Thanks a dozen! I can't wait to try it out.
Would it also work in other modules, since it's being extracted to the override, or is it "just" the OM?
I just copied the "Olbuffs" directory into C:\Atari\NWN1\Override. Should that do the trick?
Thanks again!

Not a clue.. but the instructions are likely near the bottom portion of the web-page (just before the poster discussion section).GawainBS wrote:Wow, this download is exactly what I needed. Thanks a dozen! I can't wait to try it out.

Stated as:
"To Install, extract the directory to one of your override directories."
Not that general..GawainBS wrote:Well, yes, but those instructions are a bit "generalistic", no?![]()
I thought you were the author, hence why I asked. My mistake.
I believe there is only one over-ride directory.
BTW..
It is the NWN *2* directory.. NOT THE NWN*1* directory.
About as deep as I get into the game system is to create a nearly non-existent world with a wardrobe so that I can stuff the wardrobe with my own specialized equipment.
