Thief and spells

This could really go under either this or TOB, but anyway, im soloing a game with a fighter/thief, and i am at the cap
24//28 respectively, i obviously have invested an "HLA in UAI" <-- two in a row :D

but anyway, as far as scoll using is concerned, does the spell use the level of my thief for its effects, such as tensers transformation, which has you attack as a fighter of your level... which would be 28 instead of 24 (really makes no difference, just an example)

i guess the other possibility is that it adds up my experience and uses the level that i would be at. It did this for HLA's, as i got access to them at about level 16 or so
i only really care because im curious, and the length of some spells matter to me seeing as how i need to use GWW

For your situation it doesn't matter as most spells reach maximum power at level twenty, thus either way, you're getting the most you possibly can out of the scroll.

That, and if I'm correct, I believe that the scrolls are cast at full power anyway.

If I'm not, then I'd assume that your second class's level is used for determining the power of the spell.

oh yeah thats probably right, because some of the spells say max 20... they probably just didnt put in in for every one.

thank you again crenshinibon, youve been answering everything i post :)

Scrolls always cast at level 10. This happens to be the maximum for some spells (e.g. fireball), but not for all.

Incidentally, fireball has that maximum of 10d6, but skull trap doesn't (both do 1d6 per level otherwise) - which is why people prefer the latter for actual spellcasters.
