In prison you spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell. At work you spend most of your time in a 6x8 cubicle.
In prison you get 3 meals a day. At work you get a break for 1 meal and you have to pay for it.
In prison you get time off for good behavior. At work you get rewarded for good behavior with more work. In prison you can watch TV and play games. At work you get fired for watching TV and playing games.
In prison a guard locks, unlocks, opens and closes all doors for you. At work you must carry around a security card and unlock and open all doors yourself.
In prison you get your own toilet. At work you have to share.
In prison they allow you to visit your family and friends. At work you can't even speak to family and friends.
In prison all expenses are paid by taxpayers, with no work required. At work, you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for the prisoners.
In prison you spend most of your life looking through bars from the inside wanting to get out. At work you spend most of your time wanting to get out and inside bars.
In prison you can join many programs that you can leave at any time. At work there are some programs you can never get out of.
In prison there are wardens who are often sadistic and psychotic. At work we call them managers!

Police were searching for a Los Angeles County jail inmate who escaped with the help of a forged ID card bearing the picture of actor Eddie Murphy. A swarm of police conducted a yard-by-yard search of the area when the escape was discovered but the suspect was long gone.
Informants have told investigators that Kevin J. Pullum, 31 - who was jailed on attempted murder charges -- forged an ID card that looked like the cards used by civilian employees of the jail. The card featured a photo that was clipped from a magazine ad for Dr. Doolittle 2. Much of the escape was recorded on the jail“s video system that showed Pullum nonchalantly strolling out of custody.
And again...
Fireworks hidden in a Kansas City man's oven turned out to be a recipe
for disaster when the man blew up his oven during dinner preparations.
According to Kansas City Assistant Fire Marshall Jim Duddy, the
explosion occurred early on the morning of the Fourth of July at the
home of a 28-year-old man who had spent the night celebrating with
friends. The group, who had been drinking heavily, were shooting
fireworks off for several hours on Tuesday night at the Northland area
home.
Neighbors became annoyed with the noise and called the police. When they
arrived someone in the group stashed the fireworks in the oven, but
neglected to inform the homeowner that they were there. Later, when he
turned on the oven to bake lasagna at 3 a.m., the kitchen was blown to
smithereens. Duddy concluded that flying glass had caused some injuries,
but otherwise no one was hurt.
What, more?...
A gang of four men responsible for 20 cases of motorcycle theft, rape,
and armed robbery were caught taking a coffee break this week
immediately after robbing a mobile phone shop. The foursome held two
employees at gunpoint and took an unsubstantiated number of phones and
cash before escaping.
But they didn't get too far. The owner was about to fill out a police
report when he noticed the thieves' car at a nearby drink stall. The
owner contacted the police, and they arrested the four without any
problems. Fleeing the scene did not make it high on the priority list
for this foursome.
