damn Global warming

Lets begin with where I am.
I live in Ireland which a few years ago had simply strange weather 'cause of it being an island and all. Really weird I won't be surprized to see totaly opposite weather in a
single day.

But becuase of global all we seem to get mostly now is rain, some summer and winter
does show through but other than that rain is always here.

And now because of a new theory of the ocean slowing down, its currents carrying warm water from the south, we're going to turn into an Iceland style climate.

Tis a bugger isn't it

Was bored and wondering if anyone else has seen changes like this anywhere else?  :(

Well to tell the truthe, I don't see the global warming here in Alabama. Sure we get recordhighs once in a while, but when you watch the local news you still see records still standing from long ago. Just the other day the record high was set back in the 1890's. If we were really getting hotter every year, how is it that that record is still standing? I have read several studies of conflicting natures, so I am not convinced that there is such a thing as Global Warming.IMHO. Which I am not saying at all that I am an expert. ;)

Global warming is a bunch of hooey. Move to Minnesota, USA, with me - come December, you will be praying for the icecaps to melt.

Aegis I hate to tell you this but global warming will make canada colder.

Simply put ice melts, the cold water moves towards the equator hitting the hot water that follows the currents northward. Since the hot currents are now slowed and stopped before they reach the more northen countries
they get wetter and colder.

I don't want to get into politics (really!), but check out this site for an idea of my opinion on global warming. It (the theory of global warming) is just not based in fact.

I don't know if this is an 'effect of global warming,' but in the past decade, Texas has been getting drier and drier with more drought problems; at least in West, Central, and Southwest Texas. I'm sure Houston and Galveston are as humid and moist as ever.

Recently in the US, 2400 climate scientists signed a statement that the climate change threat is real, that human disturbance of global weather is already a fact, and that prompt policy response is urgently needed.

Recognizing the problem of potential global climate change the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988.
This body concluded that on the basis of the evidence it was correct to conclude that human interference with the climate was responsible for global warming.

Bush recently formed his own panel of independent scientist – they supported the conclusions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

If you every read any stuff released by scientists you realise that most of the time they just argue with one another.
Just from looking over the changes in the last few years is can easly be seen.
( I hate politics too :D )

I grew up along the front range of the Rockies in Colorado. There is a small semi-resort (dating to the 1920s) in one part of the town. Winter snow fall was enough that they even had a ski lift on one of the hills there (an old tow-rope lift). But by the 1950s, the winter snows were not sufficient to support consistent skiing, so the lift was dismantled. Even growing up, I remember plenty of snow for sledding, but these days there just doesn't seem to be the accumulation for it.

This is my anecdotal evidence in support of the global warming phenomenon.
