Real problem with mods

I'm having a real problem with mods on my PC. For a while I had several mods, and most of them worked, until one certain point. From then on every mod that I added didn't work. At one point I thought that it might have been the fact that I had downloaded OBMM at about that time. I tried some things with the program but really I had no idea what I was doing. I've since deleted OBMM from my PC but nothing has changed.

I've re-installed the game several times, but nothing changes, but I haven't gone so far as to delete all mods and re-download them and re-do EVERYTHING.

I saw a post before (maybe in the morrowind forum) where someone was able to copy and paste a list of the mods they have running, or something, and people were able to check if there is anything that might cause problems. Where can I find this? Any other advice? It's really quite annoying (I've had this problem for a while, but it wasn't until I saw the Oblivion Real Estate that I decided to do something about it).

Please help! This is such a friggin' fabulous game and I'm dying to get back stuck into the middle of it :p

OBMM will never crash your game. It only allows you to do things with mods; it's a tool. It doesn't actually run inside the game, itself. Remember, you need to RTFM. Nothing says it better. There are some powerful things about OBMM, and studying its functionality can never hurt.

Put up your mod list, in loading order, from first loaded to last. To do this, reinstall OBMM. (You knew this was coming, didn't you? ;) ) Open it. Close it. It should create a file called loadorder.txt. Open that file. It will have a list of all your mods in the order you're loading them. Copy and post that.

Ok, I've got it running now, but I can't find this document. Is there anywhere specific I should look? I'll keep looking for now...

But wouldn't it be better if I could somehow re-do (whatever that means) everything? I don't mind losing my save games :(

Besides the help button in OBMM, where else can I go for help for a total wimp techie like me?

EDIT

Ok, rather than spend hours looking for something that doesn't exist, I'll just type everything out.

(1) Oblivion.esm
(2) EvilLair.esp (<- This doesn't work, but I have it checked)
(3) ChaseCameraMod.esp (<- No idea if this works or not)
(4) attack and hide easier v2.0.esp (<- This works)
(5) ES4_Alchemists Reference.esp (<- This works)
(6) LevelSlowEpic.esp (<- This works)
(7) Natural_Water_by_Max_Tael.esp (<- I think it works, not sure)
(8) Natural_Weather_by_Max_Tael.esp (<- I think it works, not sure)
(9) Sunlit Interiors 1.31.esp (<- Does not work)
(10) _cities_alive_at_night.esp (<- Does not work)
(11) No more Annoying Messages.esp (<- Does work)
(12) Travellers Inns.esp (<- I've forgotten what this is, I don't think it works)
(13) actors_in_charge.esp (<- Works)
(14) 2367-1.0-Borderless Cyrodiil- TESSource.esp (<- Works)
(15) AliveWaters.esp (<- Does not work)
(16) Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp (<- Does not work)
(17) All normal clothes buyable.esp (<- Does work, but all it does is add all the clothes in the game to an NPC vendor that was already there in vanilla Oblivion)

I have more mods in the list, but these are the only ones that are ticked and ought to work, and don't. I'm sure I extracted them all properly.

Thank you for the help people! Please aid me in my (hopeless, perhaps) case :)

Besides the help button in OBMM, where else can I go for help for a total wimp techie like me?

The help file is the manual. It's pretty good.

As for your mods, click the move down button on all mods that don't work, and move them two or three from the bottom of your list.

Be sure all the mod files are in their correct folders. You can do this by going through each archive, and hand moving each folder. So for example: if you have an archive called Alivewaters.rar, and it contains two folders marked Textures and Meshes, grab them both and drag them over the Data sub-folder in your Oblivion directory. You'll be asked if you want to overwrite: select "yes to all."

Ok, I finally did it. I stayed up for about four hours uninstalling Oblivion, re-installing it, patching it, organizing all my mods, screenshots etc., and testing every single mod I added. Now everything works except the "Cities Alive at Night" mod.

I'm just wondering that maybe it should have come with textures or meshes, becuase all I got in the compressed file was a an .esp. What am I doing wrong?

Oops, nevermind. The only 'problem' here was that I mixed up "Cities alive at night" with "Illumination within". I was expecting all kinds of bright windows, so when I tested the mod, I assumed that there was something wrong

Nevermind! Thanks for your help Fable :)

No meshes, just textures. What it does is replace the textures of building windows with those that seem to glow at night. As lighting solutions go, it's the least FPS-intrusive. You are checking the homes from outside the city, right? Because that's its intent.
