My character is wearing caretaker veil, but see nothing. Is it a bug? how can I solve this problem?

Do you see the four rooms? Go in one of them and you see a little stand. If you don't have the veil on you cannot highlight the stand and click on it. Click on the stand and it will give a dialogue box with a question....

With the veil on you can also see secret doors around the edge of the map (hit the key that highlights all clickables....is it "z"?)
