Bloodlines 1.2 stopped working in XP

Hi all,
I have an original version of Bloodlines that worked for couple of years (I bought it from direct2drive/alienware or something like that). For an unknown reason it stopped working in Windows XP.
Basically, when I double click the game icon (or even the exe file) nothing happens, no warning, no errors - the game is not starting... it simply doesn't launch the game. Same thing with the uninstall icon or add remove programs - the game is not uninstalling. Windows is simply ignoring it.
I suspected the windows DEP and I even disable it : IT Resource | How to Disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) Completely
NOTHING
I decided to install on a different machine - same symptoms. The game will not start period - no authentification issues, nothing...
