I suppose it's been done before, but we've had a lot of people arrive over the last month or so. So let's do it ad nauseum, until we all heave ourselves off the balconies of the nearest tall buildings! What are your favorite games of all time? :)

Repton. It ruled the school.

What was gauntlet all about? I have a few hazy memories....yes even before I discovered the absinthe.

Gauntlet - little pixelated characters (warrior, archer, valkyrie, wizard) running around a dungeon on the Amstrad, picking up food, gold, keys and battling monsters from generators... and Death himself! :D

BTW, Absythe? Yum, warms the ****les of yer heart. ;)

You know, another one I really enjoyed was Microprose's Hyperspeed, from 1991. It was an Andy Hollis game, with a hell of a lot of gameplay. You basically were trying to create a new home for Terrans in an unknown galaxy, and there were about 15 other races, each with their own agenda. Fascinatingly different images and music for the various alien races (I heard at the time that they engaged different about half-a-dozen different teams of artists and composers to emphasize the differences). Great action, strategy, and roleplaying, and pretty non-linear.
