I can't believe it's November 2008 and people still post in this forum. I don't think anything else makes for a better testament to how incredible the Baldur's Gate series is.
Anyway, I just came up with a strategy for my SoA thru ToB run that I wanted to share. It should be known that I have made use of no mods whatsoever.
Party consists of Halfelven Blade (Main), Haerdalis, Aerie, Imoen, Sarevok and Jan Jansen. Sarevok is dualled to mage immediately upon aquisition. The big picture is this:
Haer and (Main) stand on the front lines with defensive spin, improved bardsong, stoneskin and mirror image. Each of my powerful archmages casts simulacrum. The simulacrums cast spell immunity, divination, after which all eight wizards buff themselves with melf's minute meteors and improved haste.
The two blades, who are almost completely immune to physical attacks, tank. The rest of the group proceeds to focus fire on whichever enemy poses the biggest threat, making a total of 80 attacks each round. The four original attackers gain an 8 point bonus to their attacks and their damage (simulacrums don't because apparently summoned stuff doesn't benefit from music). This makes for a formidable ranged fighting force that comes to fruition without the slightest bit of obscenely obvious cheese.
Do you think this strategy will remain viable through the end of ToB?
