Well, to those following the Fantasy book discussion in the forum, here's a short excerpt from a short story I wrote...

The dim lighting of the ancient room made it hard to see yet D’arthana made his way through the dusty room with ease. It had been a room he had been in many times, and was capable of making his way blindfolded. As he walked, the staff by his side clanked along the floor, D’arthana’s light frame leaning hungrily on it. He past several tables, all of which had odd assortments of bottles, vials and books on top, all of which were used for his profession.

His profession was one looked down upon in the lands of Ayenee. It was that of the dark and mystic arts. He had learned the ways of magic when he was but a young, elven boy, growing up in the lush woods of Si’lenttii. Although all things of nature are welcome in Elven lands, that of dark intentions was an exception. He started out first, learning the ways of the Elder Dragon God, Ladon, but was persauded to join the ranks of the dark by a man named Tanarii. He was a human who D’arthana had met at the age of seventy-eight, still a young age for an Elf, and was easily swayed by his dark influence. When word of this got to the Council of the Sun, D’arthana was immediately cast out of Elven society as a Dark Elf, and forced to live among Humans.

It was then that he took up residence in the town of Tarson, the wealthiest of towns in Ayenee. He discretly purchased a small home, and set up his lab in the basement. Throughout the years, his dark magics had carved innumerable amounts of tunnels, and caverns under that home. The very tunnels he was traveling today. He had carved those tunnels more then eighty years before, and used them on a daily basis since. He rarely left his laboratory. Only when he needed fresh ingredients or a meeting with the High Mages Council, did he venture forth from the cavernous basement.

On most days his journey would’ve ended in the room he was walking through today. Most times he didn’t even glance at the one door he kept locked at all times. Today, though, was special. He had anticipated this moment for years. This was the day he entered the locked room.

He stepped up to the door, and slid a small iron key into the lock. He heard the familiar clicking of the lock sliding out of place. Before pushing the door open though, he hesitated. Moments after he slid the key out of the lock, two, white, spectral eyes appeared in front of him....

Anyway, thats page one. If you like, respond, and I'll send you a copy.

This is a sister thread to the one in the BG2 forum. anything to do with this stroy, or my writting, please use this one instead of the other.

Yeah, I would like to read it actually, but that would mean I'd have to give you my e-mailadress which I've solemny promised mom not to 'cause it has my first name in it...

Right.... If you promise me you won't post it (or my name) anywhere here I'll e-mail it to you so I can read your stuff. It's nice....
(mom is gonna slaughter me IF she finds out...)

Heh, just kidding around. I meant no offense by it. Also, you have my complete agreement on the e-mail thing. It won't be posted, distributed or given out. So, if your really intersted in the full story, just say the word however way you want.

I haven'd heard about this before, is this a book you wrote? Do I need to pay to read it? How do I let you know if I like to read it?

If you wrote it and I don't need to pay(cheap holland people :D ) then I would like to read it!
(it may take a while before I can start at it since I'm just starting in the 3e Lord of the Rings book by Tolkien.)

@Rob-hin: Pay, eh.... Hmm.... :D

No, you don't have to pay, and this isn't so much a novel. It is actually just a short three page story that I wrote. what you've seen on the top of this thread was the first page. But, if enough people encourage me, I could continue it. If you want a copy of this, just send me an e-mail, and I'll reply with a copy.

Well, I have read it yesterday and here's what I think:

It's pretty good, easy to read and I think the story could unfold nicely.

If you ever decide to finish it, send me a copy!
