Rope used on elevator how to pick up rope?

So I used the rope on the elevators in vault 15. Two different ropes since I don't know how to pick them up? The walkthrough says you can use the same rope on each elevator but how do I pick it up off the ground? I tried looking through the mouse 2 options but couldn't find anything that would help me.

Besides that I just wiped out the Raiders and saved you know who woot! Loving this classic game!

Hmm...
As far as I remember, you can't pick those ropes up after using them in elevator...

nope can't pick it up mate. however there is another rope in the locker on the second floor, which you use for the second elevator shaft to get to the third floor (lol hope that wasn't confusing)
