About Weapons ....

Unless I have missed something, the only weapons and Armour that can be carried on the Witcher are placed in the related slots. There is no ability to carry any other sword as inventory so that the Witcher can change the type of sword he uses?? Is this correct or can extra swords and Armour be carried in inventory?

If not, then the only obvious thing that has to be done when another more powerful sword is found, is to drop the present sword to the ground and pickup and use the new sword. That would prevent the Witcher from selling the older sword too. Correct??

Another question:
My sword is the Temenan Steel Sword. Looking at the attributes for that sword it says "A steel sword used to fight humans. Ineffective against most monsters."

If that is the case, then does that mean I should not bother using it against a "monster" such as the Drowners and instead, use another weapon such as the Axe? Or do I still slash away with my sword??

The only way you'll ever be able to sell your crappy weapons is if you know that a better one is coming up.

As far as the "ineffective against monsters", it works. Sharp is sharp. Even drowners can get taken down if you use group/fast style with it, as can ghouls, although they are significantly harder to take down, and I'd recommend treading VERY carefully so that you only fight one at a time, unless you have a ton of buffing potions.

Now, when you get the silver sword... wow. It tears through drowners like nobody's business, and even a group of ghouls can go down if you're smart about it.

Thanks Marik

I'll keep pounding away at it then. I'll also use my skill points for improvement to swordsmanship attributes.

Sounds like a long process to get through before I can get to chapter II and get a Silver Sword.

Thanks again.

The swords can also be held in your heavy weapons slot, so you can swap out your old sword for a new one and still keep the old one to sell.

I never keep weapons in the light and heavy weapons slots, unless I'm on my way to sell them. This keeps the slots open and helps keep a bit more gold in my inventory, since I only use the witcher sword fighting styles anyway.
