Scary real life events that would suit a movie

Jaker's Scary movie thread made me think about a few real life events that would certainly fit in a movie. Post yours!

1. I met this guy at a party, had a discussion with him and a group of other people about reincarnation. This guy gets the idea that he knows me from a previous life. I assure him that I neither believe in reincarnation, nor that him and I have met before.
Guy gets my phone number from the people who had they party. He starts calling me, repeatedly and tries to convince me we have met in a previous life, and that I should make an effort to remember. Things quickly deteriorate. He has found out where I live, and starts visiting me to convince me I have to try to remember. First, he tells me I have played a part in making a women who is his "soulmate" disappear. Then, a little later, he is convinced I am this women.
I tell many times he should stop calling at me. Finally, I give up and just hang up when he rings, and don't open the door when he calls. Then things start to go bad.
He starts to send me threating letters, where he describe different violent fantasies and dreams he has about how he is going to kill me. He starts ringing me in the middle of the night, with the same sort of messages, but I just hang up. He says he is going to wait for me with a gun, and I will never know where or when. Those where nervous times. Just when I was going to report him to the police, the harassment stopped.
The guy had committed suicide.

2. Friend of mine is sitting at the tube late at night, on her way home. A very weird looking man in extremly dirty and shabby clothes enters the train. Unfortunately, he takes the seat opposite to her, although the train is almost empty.
The man tries to talk to my friend, but she pretends to be looking out of the window. In the corner of her eye, she sees the man is playing with a small object. It's a finger. A human finger, bloody at the end.
She looks at the man's hands and count his fingers. Ten. The finger he is playing with is not his own.
My friend starts to panick, but the man is obviously getting off at the next station. He stands up, smile at her, give her the finger as some kind "gift" and get off the train.

There was a time back when we first went to Hungary (about six years ago) when my wife and I were being followed around in Szombathay by a couple of young guys. Wherever we went, whichever way we turned, they were about half a block behind us, chatting away. This was after dark, and we were a bit worried: we didn't know the language, this was a generally empty daytime commercial district, and there were no cops in sight. We entered a restaurant, and had dinner. Sure enough, about ten minutes later, the two guys entered casually and sat down at a table near us, ordering coffee.

After about an hour, they finally gave up, wouldn't order anything else, and left. We waited another few minutes, then ducked out a side entrance. It was a less than a successful dinner, everything considered, and a rather tense experience.

Almost drowning in the Amazon River was still more traumatic, but a lot briefer. ;)

Pretty creepy stuff. You're lucky that guy died (although that sounds terrible to say), but delusional people usually don't give up their delusions.

Here's something weird that happened to me. I had an antique piano in my old loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I used to practice on it for hours and hours on end. Every time I'd practice a certain Chopin Etude (a posthumous one), I'd hear a voice of someone talking behind me. I'd stop playing and look every time this happened, but no one was there. I could never make out what the voice was saying.

Maybe it was Chopin asking you to move onto the next Etude.

Could be--been known to butcher a few pieces... Caused the old masters to roll in their graves many times...
It was really strange though, and only on that piece, not any other Chopin... I had the idea that the piano itself was haunted.

It was three years back. I attended a summer school program at a college. This guy walked to me and my friend and gave us this little slip with some phrase on it. I forgot it now. The guy said that if we wanted something, all we have to do is to say the phrase in our mind over and over again, we would get what we want. Surprisingly, it worked. I was really creeped out. The guy also said that if we throw the slip within a week, it would bring us bad luck. We were supposed to throw it away after next Friday, which happened to be a Friday the 13th. Anyways, I throw the paper away on Thursday, not believing in that superstitious stuff. ON Friday the 13th, I was hit by a car when I was riding my bike and broke my arm.

I think it was just a really big coincidence. But I was creeped out nonetheless. The guy who gave me the paper scares me. It must be some kind of cult or something or that guy is just plain weird.

I was 11 then and my kid brother was 5. Our family just came home from a summer vacation in my Dad's home province in the central islands.

While on the plane, my brother, Jay, was already having a fever.

On that night at home after arriving my little bro started talking in his sleep --- he was talking fluently in my father's local dialect.

Gave us the jitters coz at that time we only know how to speak English and Tagalog!

A grandfather-like family friend visited us the day after and he told us that upon entering our house, his Holy Virgin amulet became searing hot!

He checked on my bro, had Jay's pinky fingers side by side and noticed that one of the finger is unusually longer than the other.

Gave off some scream when the amulet (covered with scarlet cloth) was placed on his skin.

"It's a female spirit," our family friend quipped. (I think if the left pinky is longer, it's female.)

He got his incense and small incense brazier filled with a decent amount of burning charcoal...

Upon putting some of the powdery incense on the burning embers, the brazier all of a sudden spurted out flames! (This is unusual because burning incense do not produce fire, just smoke.)

The smoke was deathly black.

The old man did not stop burning the incense till the smoke registered a dirty white color. Evil Spirits are said not to like the smell of incense.

The Faith Healer went to every room, around the house and filled the place with smoke till it became white.

What made me really believe in it was that I heard my little brother fluently speak the said dialect and those who heard him knew that that was impossible.

I got scared too when I saw the flames and the black smoke...

Apparently Jay somehow unknowingly got the fancy from some female spirit while playing in our grandfather's field in the province.

Seemed like the spirit followed us home from the province. Jay's fever subsided after being bathed in with incense.

When we were in Indonesia - Jarkata - we lived in this old colonial house, something like 250 years old.
It had been redesigned many times but only from the inside.
We stayed there for 4 years and the place was plain creepy.
When my father first came to the place - a black King Cobra sat on the patio and just stared at my dad for like 10 minutes.
It wouldn't move but was ready to strike.
We finally got rid of it after a day.
Nobody told me how

2nd the light switch - for the whole house would trip every so often a week and only at night.
We got the whole thing replaced 4 times over the years - the fuse box, new internal wiring the works.
It would always trip.

3rd. There was this one room - my room for a period of a year - which just scared me.
It still does even when i think about it.
The room had no windows and would be searing hot if the AC was not on - high humidity in Indo, so fans and AC.
With the fan it would be just hotter.
But once you put on the AC it would be freezing cold that you had to wearing a woolen blanket for the night.
If you turned on the AC an hour of before you slept, it would hot once again in a short while.
So it was either sleep sweaty or turn on the AC and freeze.

When you slept in that room, it was a deep rem.
I mean so deep that at one point my parents couldn't wake up.
They had to water on me to wake me up somewhere at 1 in the morning.
However i would wake at sun rise without fail everyday i was in that room.
I knew it was sunrise, as Azaan - calls for prayers could be heard in my room.
Don't know how it got there, as there were no windows and there was only 1 door in the middle of the house in a corridor with no windows.
Yes the mosque was near by, but we could hear it that well in the rest of the house.

Then once my uncle stayed in that room.
And he has a heart condition, he was very tired the night he arrived and did not un-pack.
His medicine was in his bag before he slept.
At night he told us the next day, that he need his medicine and lo and behold the correct dosage, the correct medicine and water were present at his bedside table.
My mom and my dad did not know about his heart condition and me and my sis were too young to understand.
So we just left that.

We have 5 cats when were in indo, then never entered that room.
I can't remember on time that any one of then was in it.

Nothing bad happened, but it was just weird.
My parents are very religious so they got our Iman - a religious scholar type guy - to check the room out.

This is what he said, before that muslims believe in Jinns - not ghosts but a seperate race created along side man.
He spent 2 nights and days in there to check.
He said that this room - where i slept was the prayer room for the jinns and that you should have no problem with them, they just like to kid around - the light switch thing.

Me and my sis stayed away from that room for the next 2 years.
That room was off limits to all guests and nobody was allowed to stay there.

@CE that is a scary story :(

When i was about 8, me and a mate were off adventuring as one does when they are young, we stumbled upon this whole herd of dead sheep all thrown down a dingle, all their corpses were rotting and the stench was awful. Okay so it isn't exactly riveting, however when one is eight it is incredible. We kept coming up with conspiracies to explain it. We never told anyone, it was very much our secret. It would do well as a conspiracy film, infecting the population of a rural village to experiment on them.

I know there are others, however they elude my mind at the moment ;)

I knew a woman who was a tour guide once, and she told me this story:

She was giving a tour once, and this guy on the tour told her something about taking people's life force. She just smiled and brushed it off, she didn't think he was serious. She thought he was just fooling around. Until he said, "I could kill you right now and take your life force, and then your life force would pass on to me and make me stronger." I think there was also something about immortality in there, can't remember exactly...Anyway, my friend starts to freak out. She says, "No, I don't think you could do that." "Oh yes I could," he said. "I could kill you right now."

Well, the tour finally gets downstairs and the guide sees one of the male guides in the foyer. She grabs him and introduces him to the tour as her son, and whispers in his ear, "For God's sake, don't leave me." He didn't know what was up but he stayed with her for the rest of the tour, and she didn't have any more problems from the creepy guy. At the end of the tour he just left, but she was still shaken up, as can well be imagined. He never showed up again, either, so fortunately it was a freak, one-time thing.

Another one -- I was walking in Boston one night with a friend of mine, and we both saw the body of a man lying under a car. But it didn't look as if he'd been run over. The car was parked along the curb, and the body was kind of half under it, visible from the waist up, on the passenger side. So, because the body was under the passenger side, it looked as if it had been placed there, on purpose. It was just really, really creepy, it gave me the major willies. I can still see that whole scene in my mind, plain as day.

I wish Chopin had turned up when I was playing his Nocturnes - I would have had a word or two to say to him  :D

@Loner: Sounds like the guy the Tour guide met had a lot in common with the guy I met - maybe that was his lost "soulmate" ;)

Yup, CE. I am convinced that Chopin was left-handed, since all the hard stuff is in the left hand. That particular Etude was mind-boggling to play--the left hand was in 8/8 time and the right hand was in 6/8 time. Kinda like patting your head and rubbing your belly. But a really beautiful piece.

i have several stories...
my favorite was a few years ago, some really bad floods hit south texas, well one morning, it was sunny and i went ot shiner texas for bocktoberfest to see robert earl keen play. everythign was fine all day, then it started raining, and it didn't let up. i started driving back home since they cancelled the concert. i came around a corner and saw nothing but water. the current swept up my truck and spun me around. i eventually came to a stop just short of hitting a tree. as i was itting there, hoping to wait it out, the back passenger sid eof my trucvk starts lifting up. fortunately it is pushign me at the tree. by this time the water is over my window. i roll it down, and blindly reach otu into the water. i happen to grab a branch. as i pull my chest clear of the window. the truck flips over and flies downstream. so there i was, skippign on the top of water since the currrent was so strong. i pull myself along the branch til i get to the trunk. i climb up and pray for someone to rescue me. the water is now way over where i made the turn so i see people piling up, so i am screaming at the top of my lungs, no idea if anyoen hears me. eventually i see a head in the water, they had tied a rope to the other side and floated out to me. i reache dinto the water to wrap the rope around my wrist befor ei got in so we could tie it around both of us...he had said that was the end of the rope...wrong. as soon as i get in, i fly down stream, poppign my shoulder out of joint. so, me and the guy finally get me back to the tree and as we were about to tie it around us, the rope gets pulled away (found outu later that when they felt the pop, they thought that was us giving the signal to pull us in).
eventually another truck pulls up that had a ski rope and some lifejackets in it, so they made a human chain as far out as they could and floated the jackets out to us and pulle dus in.
also at some point, i was tangled up in barbed wire (that was what stopped my truck from hitting the tree initially) i have two parallel scars all the way down my back and little scrapes all over.

that's probably the scariest thign to happen to me, maybe not the best movie though.

movie stories: i've also had stalkers cut their legs open with razor blades in public. had the wife of a deputy chief of police fly me to hawaii to for a nic elittle romp. oen of my best friends was murdered by being rammed intentionally into a tree(it was on unsolved mysteries awhile back), i beat a man so severely i was arrested for attempted murder, but no charges were ever actually filed once it was cleared up that iw as provoked by him.
how are those for some quick movie ideas?

Ah, Texas Floods. Were you around in Austin when it flooded bad in the early 80's? I remember seeing pianos floating down Lamar Blvd. (there was a piano store nearby). Very surreal. Scariest flood I experienced in Texas was driving through Lubbock--when they have a thunderstorm there, the ground is so hard and dry, the streets become dangerous white-water rivers!
