Well I am a veteran Oblivion player but Ive always had issues with making a good starter class. So I'll tell you what I'm interested in and hopefully any of you can help me. I want a class that is good at stealth, magic, and blades and I would also like to be a Breton or Dunmer. Could y'all give me some major skills and birth signs that would match this well? Also I am playing on an Xbox.

stealth

well when i play i usually play as a bosmer or argonian so i dunno if this build will be as good but it never really makes a difference.

i use

stealth
security
blade
acrobatics
athletics

you never really need armour because cloths that are enchanted seem to work just as good, usually i use illusion because it just helps.

I'd go with

Destruction (use all the time)
Illusion *
Mysticism *
Hand to Hand (but use blade)
Acrobatics *
Security (but use alteration whenever possible)
Athletics (but sneak+run all the time except for leveling purposes)

*rarely use on its own, just for leveling purposes

Typical spells I'd use

Burn Undead 5 fire damage for 5 seconds, max turn undead for 5 seconds (increase as I improve)

Flaming(or freezing) Fear As BU but max Demoralise in place of Turn Undead (increase as I improve)

The obvious one though is Soul Trap + damaging effect

Always mix and match your effects!

The idea being to balance the effects to boost the school I wan to improve

One spell I can't resist is

Berserker: Frenzy 25 magnitude on target for 5+seconds, zap target and enjoy the mayhem. Works particularly well in the Arcan University, althoug the Watchmen end up dieing very quickly (it doesn't work on them, but they attack anyone you frenzy, the rest of the mages then attack them)

I use that combo a LOT!

Well, for plenty of Magica the Breton is the best race, imo. Dunmer are probably better for stealth/mage/blade, but you have to give 'em the Mage birthsign to get any reasonable amount of magica.

If you have a Breton, you don't need to use a sign to get extra magica, and can just opt for The Thief sign which will obviously give you the extra edge Bretons don't have for sneaky stuff.

As for major skills:

BLADE - because you need the 25 start
ARMOURER - for a good start towards repairing your own magical equipment
SECURITY - you may not need this if you decide to put Alteration in major, obviously
ALTERATION - instead of Security
SNEAK
MARKSMAN or DESTRUCTION
RESTORATION
MYSTICISM - because it's useful/ or ACROBATICS - which I personally like because it helps when you have to do steep climbing or jump a long way before you get certain useful items.
