The Games Workshop has a new LOTR wargame out, if you're into tabletop gaming and miniature painting.

At least this is one popular work which I will suspect won't become heavily merchandised after a hit film appears. The family is simply too interested in maintaining the integrity of the old man's concept. Doing otherwise seems a big mistake, to me. I heard that a Broadway musical based on the late Dr. Seuss' creations was approved by his wife, and both opened and closed recently. There are the usual host of dolls, action figures, etc, also in the works. A shame.

You're right fable.
With any luck LOTR will knock HP's pants off at the box office

but Harry will win on the merchandising. <shudder>
All those little Harry Potter cornflakes packets and coke tin toys. Yuck!
