Mithral

In my game (MotB, latest patch), Mithral does not seem to affect armours. I found an Elven Chainmail, which is made of mithral (the item properties said so), but it doesn't increase the max dex bonus, it doesn't lower the armour check penalty, nor does it count as light armour. I encountered this with a Mithral Chain Shirt as well.
What's going on?
Thanks in advance.

It should be the difference as represented in the description:
Neverwinter Nights 2 @ GameBanshee
vs.
Neverwinter Nights 2 @ GameBanshee

Yes, I know. But it isn't.
Neverwinter Nights 2 @ GameBanshee
This item dropped. It was described as Material: Mithral, but Neeshka couldn't equip it, and there was no change to armour check penalty and max dex.

Ah, so it isn't exactly mithral chain..
Always go by the descriptions "stats", never-mind if it claims to be mithral or not.
Yeah, stupid *atari* coders.
BTW, if you get the actual mithral chain version then don't sell it - ti's good for enchantment.

But the description explicitly says Material (Mithral). You mean that doesn't count? That's what has me confused. Thanks for pointing out, though.

I went back to take a look again..
There is chain shirt, and then there is chainmail
Notice the "stat" differences between the chainmails:
Neverwinter Nights 2 @ GameBanshee
Neverwinter Nights 2 @ GameBanshee
Really, the only thing screwed-up here is the Elven Chainmail's "stat" description of Light Armor.. its actually MEDIUM ARMOR (..prob. why Neeshka is having a problem).

The Elven Chainmail I found had the normal Chainmail stats, despite being made of Mithral. But apparently it's just a screw up, and nothing specific to my game. Thanks for the help.

I think the item description is screwed up for the elven chainmail. It might be 'mithril' as a piece of lore but it is not mithril in game terms. In other words if you craft your own chainmail and use mithril as the material you should get it to be light armor with reduced armor check penalties. I recommend using a breastplate though because more ac will be unrelient on dex so its more versatile. There's another armor you can give neeshka later, the rogue link's that is pretty good. And another that gives immunity to mind effects too but is only +1 (give her bracers +3).

Normally in D&D, Elven Chainmail should be mithral, with all game benefits. Besides, the description here at GB seems to support this.
Neeshka already has the Roguelinks.

I'm sorry, I just can't seem to get over how cheap of a knock off the name mithral is. It's like... there are already orcs and halflings, so nobody is going to notice anything hnhnhg never mind.
Incidentally, I'm almost done writing the Dicswarld series. It should be in stores around the same time I finish filming The Rong.
On a serious note, finding out a game is pretentious or worse yet fails at pretending - that's the worst immersion killer. For me anyway.

Yes what I was trying to say was with that item, elven chain, the developers were not aware of the rules of dungeons and dragons. They did not grant it the game stats of mithril. Even though they put mithril in the item description. You do get the properties if you find just a mithril chainmail (not named item) or craft your own thing.

Good, good, my Bard is kind off looking forward to that Mithral Fullplate.

Sounds good. I used Mithral Fullplate! Grobnar should be able to craft it eventually with inspiration, Gloves of Greater Artificing, Greater Heroism. My drow Barbarian Divine Champion Blackguard Frenzied Berserker ended the game with 44 AC plus divine shield for another 8 AC sometimes.

It's Rogue.

Rogue is somekind of make up.
IIRC, Rogue Links is +3 Studded Leather with some Hide bonuses. You can certainly make something better.

In Fort Locke is a Craftmaster, he explains it. The various recipe books explain it as well. The Manual of the game does it too.

Yes that will explain how to craft..(what gawain says)
go to bioware forums and one of the NWN2 boards (I guess the spoiler one) will have a sticky with ALL of the crafting recipes..
I would craft a mithril Breastplate +5 with maybe some hide and move silently for a rogue..

I remember there was a pretty detailed crafting thread here on GB as well. It wasn't so long ago.
