Night Eye... a little rough on the Eyes

As I am playing my proverbial favourite character, a stealth-oriented sharp shooter, I'm frequently skulking about various dungeons bow at the ready...
This is tremendous fun, but one thing I'm finding a bit difficult is that glaring blue of the night-eye spell. Initially I thought Oblivion's Night Eye was an improvement over Morrowind's, but increasingly it's becoming a strain on the eyes.
I know I could use Light, however that would make me as noticeable as a fully illuminated Christmas tree, which sort of defeats the purpose of creeping around in shadows
So, does anyone know of a mod that adjusts Night Eye? I've looked around but I didn't see anything. Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions for .ini tweaks perhaps?

Heey, you finally got around playing Oblivion!
Cool. I don't know of such a mod (I can point you to a few that make them dungeons darker though), but what about using both night eye and that.. whatitcalled spell of the mysticism school that makes creatures flare up pink?
Did night eye come with a range, like in Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, etc? I forget.

Yep, I found the GOTY edition for cheap

It's pretty sad you know.. underneath all the juvenile handholding there's actually a pretty decent game there.. Happily, there are many mods that address the dumbing down problems...
Hmmm.. yeah I have used Detect Life in conjunction with Night Eye, and it is handy, the khajiit in the DB Sanctuary sells some nice spells. Problem is that it's Night Eye itself that is giving me the trouble, for some reason that blue colour tends to make my eyes hurt a bit.
I actually find, for now anyway, that dungeons seem decently dark as it is, that is actually one of the few things I haven't installed a mod for

I know it's daft, but when using light I haven't noticed any hit on stealth. I also can't hack the night-eye effect unfortunately, so in the end I had to opt for the counter-immersive light spell.

If it is just the colour that's bothering you, maybe you can do something with it in the editor. I remember it was pretty easy to adjust the spell shaders (don't actually know if they were shaders) in Morrowind with different colours. Making them black would make it so you couldn't see them anymore, which is how all the 'remove plastic wrap effect' mods worked.
The Oblivion Construction Set was trimmed down in many places though. Perhaps you can't.

Yeah, I had/have the same problem with nighteye. It's good, but the blue can glare in some places - mostly in the Planes of Oblivion, but other places too.
I found a solution, but not in the least technical! I stopped using nighteye, and just upped the screen brightness sufficiently see further in the dark. MUCH more comfortable to the eyes! Besides retaining the atmosphere.
However, even with increased brightness, some places are very dark, so I always carry around a hood enchanted with nighteye specifically for use in those places.
I use a hood rather than cast the spell, because casting spells can make you seen, but wearing the hood doesn't. All role-play, of course, but that's the way I like to play...
