How to place items down instead of just dropping them evrywere on Xbox 360

In my house I have display cases and cool places to put all my cool stuff. But I cant find a way to put something on a table or in a display case I can only drop it (and it ends up chuked on the floor). I hav oblivion on Xbox 360 can ny1 help?

You need to use the grab key. I don't know how to use it on XBox since I have the PC version, but [url="http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Controls"]this link[/url] provides information on the controls for both versions of the game.
I'd suggest quick saving first though, as you have probably discovered by now the Havoc physics system makes positioning items something of a challenge.

The pick up key is the right bumper
