Stuck due to graphics, any patch?

SPOILERS, I guess.
In the section (Warrens lvl 2) where I am to turn the pump off and the on again I get stuck, completely. Not because I'm too late and are forced to swim back, but because there's something wrong with the graphics.
When I enter the tank (left or right, doesn't matter, both are acting weird) the tank's completely empty.
And because there's no water I can't swim up through the pipe. I can see a second surface of water in the upper pipe, but there's no way for me to get up there. I'm stuck in the tank, the only way out is to swim back.
Is this a problem that can be fixed by a patch or something? Has anyone else had this problem?
I've installed the game on two different computers, but nothing seems to help.
