Why MOB rocks! ***Spoilers***

Having read somewhere that the original NN2 adventure was not great, but MOB would make it all worth it, I must whole heartedly agree! Not only is the story deeper and more mysterious -- with less of a run and fetch feel off the first module -- but the companions and gothic feel just rocks. Opinions?

Never completed MoB myself. Just couldn't get to terms with having to manage that "hunger" thingy

I liked the companions. Reminded me a bit of PS:T, I mean with all the strange races and so. The hunger thing looked pretty dull, don't know for sure because I couldn't go on playing when the skill disappear bug striked.

I am almost done in the original, gonna be on MOB soon, but contrary of everyone saying, i really love NVWN 2 in general, the only thing i can say negative about it, its the freedom. We can't event give prestige class to our companions

I had no problem with the hunger at all (as a mage even), so I really enjoyed the expansion.

I find the main problem with hunger is that I need to remember to use it. At least once I had to revert to a saved game because I missed a chance to rack up my spirit points. That said, I think it would be much easier if I wasn't lawful good.

Not by all that much.
I played a LG Sun Elf Wizard/Ascended Scholar, and had few troubles. I just had Gann and my char summon elementals, used Suppress, and rested (repeat as needed) once during each map.

I think I actually liked the original better. There were more companions to chose from, and the trial and siege of the Keep felt refreshing compared to the more of a cliched story-line of the MotB. Some of the Quests in the MotB were pretty good, but of the 5 companions, you could only have 4 in the party at the same time, and only one was a male, and I was not impressed with him at all. The worst romantic interest ever. I wish they added a few interesting Rashemi to the all out super-exotic, super-special, super-unique characters. I liked Safiya and Kaelyn very much, though.
The ending really annoyed me, as well as the inability to do anything with Bishop, and the selective deaths of the companions. I dunno, I would have preffered that the OC ended on the tragic note of the whole party dying (with a more drammatic epilogue). MotB felt artificially and hastily tied into the OC story. Again, the ending, after leaving the certain dead was low-key, boring and didn't even give me the satisfaction of following through on my choices. I was just flat out told that I can't do stuff. What's that sudden fear of breaking the lore? All Bio game did, and won for it.
Oh, and I actually liked the hunger thing mechaniques, but the backstory felt a lot like BG2, even the reason was very much the same.
Another positive note was that MotB didn't glue a companion to your side forcefully for an entire chapter....
All and all MotB was Okay, but it never had that "Wow!" feel that JE has. I don't think I will replay it.
