Your Ideal Living Space

So picture this: you have an unlimited supply of money, and can afford to buy or build the ideal home you've always wanted, exactly suited to your desires. Not a prefab mansion, not a tumbledown, dowdy old shack such as Baroness Thatcher Dubbyah Bush would inhabit. No; you can customize.
So where would it be? What would it be like?

Kinda heavy on the bandwidth, weren't those, Kid?

Besides, would you really want to live in a place that's so public, visited by thousands of people each day? Wouldn't you want privacy?

I would have a room built 700ft by 700ft, built 500 ft under ground.
More to come later, have to eat now.

I'm kind of divided on this question. On one hand, I'd love to live in a luxury condominium in the heart of the city, replete with the latest, most sophisticated entertainment technology, post-post modern furniture, Picasso paintings on the walls, gleaming robotic appliances (remember Rocky IV?) that do half the house chores, bonsai trees on every glass table, and a large balcony with a bar on each end stocked with the finest liquors.
On the other hand, I grew up in the country, and sometimes would like nothing more than to get away from the urban environment and escape to simple little cottage with a fishing lake in the back yard, two golden retrievers to keep me company, and a pier that projects out into the water, where from time to time I would sit down with my legs dangling over the edge while playing BGII and ToB on a $7000 laptop computer (I just had to add in that last part!).

I once attended a conference in a building that used to be a mansion early in the 20th century. It had more than a hundred rooms, and a private two-lane bowling alley downstairs, next to a sauna.

That would be my place then

I would be a bowling fool

If I get a strike, run and jump in the sauna,
AAAHH the life.

A very large penthouse in the middel of some large city (haven't decided yet)
I want it to consist of one big room (no walls inside the appartment)
Decoreated in minimalistic streamlined clean-cut funitur. (Yeah - I'm kind of a Yuppi (with out the money ..... yet

) )
and with art on the walls, preferly impressionistic.
(and a place for my computers of course, I wouldn't wanna live without SYM

)

My ideal living space would be several different places:
I'd like to keep the very nice flat I live in now, in the centre of the city. The house was built 1860, and most of the interior details like doors, floor, decorations etc are original. And it's a 10 min bike ride to my lab!
Then, I'd like a small wooden hut situated at a river in the mountains of the Kamchatka Penisula. I would go and live there a couple of months every year. Electricity and a bathroom is optional
Also, I'd like a small house somewhere at the south island of New Zealand, maybe at the foot of the Southern Alps or in the Kaikoura region at the east coast.
While dreaming, I might as well add a warm, confortable house with panorama windows at the cliffs overlooking the Disko Bay at the west coast of Greenland. And a nice old but modernised stone house at the island of Hoy in the Orkney archipelago north of Scotland.

@C Elegans, nobody said we couldn't employ fourth dimensional tessaracts. You could go from one room in New Zealand to another in London. I would personally like to place several rooms on the deserted northern area of the Outer Banks beaches in North Carolina, leading into several more in Amstelveen, one in New York City, and a cozy dacha near Kiev.
