My favourite spell in a game has to be 'Healing Rainbow' from Sacrifice

I finished the Persephone campaign a few ago! It was the last one for me.
Was unaware there were vids on Sacrifice online, awesome

I'll have to think about the question hard, there's an awful lot of spells I dig and Sacrifice alone has quite a few that are a marvel to behold.

-For pure cheezyness: "Aura of the Valar" from that Action RPG based in Tolkiens Middle Earth where a group of heroes follows the Fellowship of the Ring from Eriador to Mordor like a second fellowship. The group is led by a Gondorian named Beregond or some such, but I can't seem to remember the name of the actual game.

Anyway, since the spell instantly revives the targeted character upon "death" after which he/she is the next to act , then so long as you target the spellcaster who uses the spell to begin with (and use that instant action upon revival to cast AotV again) then there's no way you can lose a battle ever (unless some enemy uses a dispel, but it's rare and usually not a problem). Works like a charm.

-For pure craziness: "Dementation" in "Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines", especially when used in conversation.

-For pure feeling: Magic Missile in any D&D-based game. It's such a classic, usefull at any level, that without it no caster really feels like a real arcane spellcaster.

Consider the parallell between that one and the Mass Fowl-spell from NWN2 - MotB (my second place runnerup for a Craziness-award).

I would say one of the high level spells in Planescape Torment, probably Celestial Host. They got some insanely cool spell effects. It's a shame they went away from the movie approach, I really love those.

I like spell of AoE from Mage in World of Warcraft.

I would have to say.............Eldritch Blast, for the reason that, in fourth edition it does 1d10 of damage at the start, plus your constitution or charisma modifier, all at level 1.

Horrid Wilting

Horrid Wilting has to be my favorite spell. I just love to see my foe put into a pouch bag that gets tighted up.

Totally agree, but I think the best spell is that from the symbol of torment near the end of the game. That guy in the video - he's just frighteningly cool!
