What! Oh...yes...well...i suppose i'm one of those

. Actually, I enjoy both Football and American Football. I must admit i'm a bit unsure of all the rules of standard football, however. Heck, hockey's my sport, anyways.

why is american football called football? you use your foot maybe twice a game! and where did the word 'soccer' come from?

Well, i have never really understood how the time keeping works in football. And there are several other situations where i might not know why they do things the way they do. I can figure most of it out on my own, just a few things. I don't watch it all that often, which no doubt contributes to my ignorance.
I have no idea why American Football is known as football. Like any good american, though, i don't ask questions. I just salute and yell like an idiot.

Well the game is played in 2x45 minutes halfs with a 15 minute break. But depending on how much delay there have been in a half, there can be added some minutes to the half (often 2-3 minutes)
But don't worry - it is hard for us european to get into all the rules of "your" football

- but I'm getting a pretty good grip of it now

offsides are quite hard to understand. do you understand them? ive started playing football with offsides for a local under 14s football club and its really confusing.
